pictures of you is great
lovesong is okay
the rest is disposable

Prayers for Rain --> The Same Deep Water as You --> Disintegration is probably the greatest trilogy of songs ever laid to tape

it´s one of the greatest album of all time. It´s colorful, depressing, gigantic, beautiful. Superb songs with superb production. Definitely a true classic and a 10/10 album as a whole

/thread

but its boring as shit

you can say "boring" about almost every album in the world, "boring" is not a characteristic, it's just your opinion, so well...you can give that thought as OP asked, but tbqh that is just your opinion and nothing else, that album is a classic for something

Wtf Disintegration and prayers for rain are Top 5 in their discog for sure.

what genre is it

All their albums except Pornography are fucking shit.

Listening to it right as I post this, one of my favourite albums of all times.

Title track is my fav The Cure song, such an underated song.

Disintegration > Pornography, get over it.

don´t listen to this pleb OP

Plainsong is GOAT and it triggers me that Five for Fighting stole the melody

Essential 80s gothcore

My third favorite after Faith and Pornography.

all 10/10 albums

Dream pop, 80s alternative rock, bits of goth and post-punk

In my top 5 albums and Fascination Street is arguably my favorite song of all time. Last Dance and Prayers For Rain are also GOAT as well.

i'll admit i'm not a fan of the cure by any means
kiss me kiss me kiss me is their only album i can stand even half of

jesus christ

You know, I vaguely remember that song but not who did it or what it was called but I know what you're talking about and I caught that immediately once I heard Plainsong for the first time. I was like "Wait, I know this melody from somewhere...".

That's really fucking weird considering how scattershot and inconsistent that record is. To me, that album sounds like Smith and pals just churning out as many pop tunes as they could, I don't think that entire album has a song that's over an 8/10.

>b-but Just Like Heaven

I stand by what I said.

not even "The Kiss"?

you can take those songs as what they are...great POP tunes...

It's got its share of solid tunes - The Kiss, If Only Tonight I Could Sleep, The Snakepit, How Beautiful You Are, A Thousand Hours, Shiver And Shake - but to me it's very much a "quantity over quality" record.

It's not exactly the same but it's close enough and annoying enough

those are the three worst songs on the album dude

Kiss me, kiss me, kiss me was far better...

what the fuck are you saying dude...

the best rock album of the 80s

this

it is..it´s like the beatle´s "white album", lots of song, some very good some not that much..

Im saying that prayers for rain, same water as deep and the title track are the worst songs on the album. its 10/10 till fascination street then it gets pretty bad till Untitled saves it

you are drunk...

masterpiece that plebs and embryos are too scared to publicly like, not knowing that liking this shows you're secure enough to like what you like

really? I thought it is an universally aclaimed album

Plainsong is the greatest opener ever

>being this wrong

Dis integration is one of the few perfect albums I've ever heard. Every single song on it is perfect just so emotional, dark, and gothic and at the same time lovely and beautiful. The perfect mix of the Pornography/Faith era and the Closte to Me/KMKMKM era

i don't think i've listened past just like heaven more than twice
but that first half is pretty good
catch is their best song

Those are some hot opinions m8, considering the back half of the album feels like a loose narrative of a slowly disintegrating relationship. Prayers For Rain onwards has an incredibly cohesive flow compared to the first half.

>liking Pornography but not Seventeen Seconds and ESPECIALLY Faith

Look at him. Look at him and laugh.

for some time i don't think so - far too known, too accessible, and it is extraordinarily melodramatic lyrically

plus no talent directors (looking at sophia coppola) using it out of period for marie antoinette epitomizes how a certain set of people (garden state clones) felt albums you could buy at fucking Best Buy were totems of great taste

Top 3 Cure Songs?
>Disintegration
>From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea
>Cold

Just throwing out the fact that Last Dance is a really underrated song

the really popped it up though

Woah bro, let's be friends.

amazing criticism bud, keep it up you will be fantano level if u continue like this

The thing that gets me about this album is its production value. True, not every track is fantastic, but production wise they really made something three dimensional. They did a remaster, but honestly the original stands on its own just fine.

didn´t find so much differences between the remastered and the original version. Do you have some clear examples?

the cure are just embarrassing

smith with his dumb hair and lipstick

looks like a drag queen

this
I was so blown away the first time I heard it.

you have to be +18 to post here kid

fuck yeah

agreed, 10/10
good post friend.

Indeed, that album is full of great songs, most of them so underrated.

I love you already.
