(not in common use in Australia: I've lived there for a year and never saw this map. They use the standard map everyone uses, with Europe in north center. Even in China and Thailand they use the standard map and not the "Asia/Pacific in the middle" map.

That's centered on the Pacific rim rather tho, I don't mind much in the sense Mexico looks big, is not disfigured and is in a central enough position it might make the Japanese think more about our country, but meh, it's pointless, just a different brand of culturocentrism.

You might have people on the Southern hemisphere doing upside down maps as well, it isn't going to change Westerners centering their maps and thoughts on the north Atlantic.

Japan and Asia in general always do this. It's more logical for them as States to show themselves closer to the middle.
