I've been depressed lately, Sup Forums. My psychologist helped me notice that I only listen to sad and contemplative music - is there a Sup Forums essential "happycore" list or something similar floating around? Pic related used to be my go-to, but I started realizing that the lyrics were actually pretty sad.

Prince and Duran Duran have some nice "happy music" if you're into 80s pop/dance/new wave "1999" and "Rio" are some good starting points
This is a happy core at its best
The avalanches - since I left you
...
Kanye West - Graduation
This always manages to cheer me up. And good for you getting help user, best of luck!
Parliament
Frank Zappa
The Meters
Ween
all good happy artists
Donovan?
This will put a smile on your face.
>A Rose for Emily
>cheer me up
...
Rodeo - Travis Scott
I also recommend an adderall prescription, alcohol consumption and a girlfriend.
Smile is an emotional rollercoaster desu
When he hears Impossible and kills himself the finger will be pointed at you user
2bh I don't really subscribe to the theory that sad music makes you more sad or that happy music makes you more happy but have an album anyway.
Andrew W.K. - I Get Wet (in fact just look this guy up and watch his videos/read his articles)
Any Aquabats album.
...
This album is fucking awesome, seconding this
Thanks everyone!
I knew that there was one of these floating around, thanks!
Apparently I don't have ADHD.
I've been trying to cut back on the booze a little bit.
I've mostly been listening to doom metal, old country, and 70s soft rock lately. Something ain't right.
Might be a good time to give the ole party master a visit again.
I've seen this posted hundreds of times, but never actually checked it out! Adding to my list.
One of my favorites, good taste mang
I'll get hate for this, but fuck it.
When I feel down, I listen to this and it boosts my mood.
Holy shit, this is fucking awesome
>listen to a lot of emo
>gone to a therapist for depression recently
I've been getting interested in Mathcore, will that help me guys?
It might just be the nostalgia factor but this always makes me feel hopeful. The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, too. Hoping the best for you, OP.
kek
Putting in a good word for that Foxy Shazam album, OP. Shit is so cash and Eric Nally is a force of nature live
surfin' usa
all summer long
the beach boys today
summer days and summer nights
brian eno- another green world
should do the trick.
Since I Left You... I guess...
who the fuck wants to listen to happy music though really?
You do you, man
I totally feel you, dude. Same with pic related.
About time somebody understood me
>who the fuck wants to listen to happy music though really?
this, also SILY is pretty sad
Here's my obvious answer.
It makes me feel like everything is gonna be daijoubu
Also recommending De La Soul - Stakes is High (better than 3 Feet High in my opinion.)
Power Metal, USPM, SUPER EUROBEAT, 90's Acid Techno, start lifting, eating right and sleeping properly.
if none of that works, then you can make yourself taller.
>later became one of the most depressed people in music
>being happy is the same as being plebl
damn...
not the the title track.
haruomi hosono- paraiso
nice dubs btw
>bandcamp
Into the TRASH it goeeees
Some parts of this album are really sad though.
Anything from these guys, although Heirs is their weakest release on this list:

This isn't a sharethread.
AJJ - People who can eat people... is a really depressing album though. Classic user, joshing around as usual.
Fang Island s/t is happy as fuck though, much, much better than the other Fang Island on there.
OP, listen to some Tropicalia

fuckin T H I S

Literally the fourth time in this thread (ITT) this has been recommended.
...
I thought the same thing, but it's also kinda cathartic. Listening to Brave as a Noun when I'm down makes me feel a little better sometimes.
I don't know if I'd put it on the same chart as Phoenix, though.
>this far into the thread
>no apples in stereo
You should be ashamed of yourselves.
10/10 since highschool.
A lot of these albums are very depressing.
It never get's old. This album is so goddam fun and actually good too
eat a peach is an awesome feel good album
>Passion Pit
I love them but he just sings about how bipolar he is and how much it sucks
Handsomeboy Technique - Adelie Land
youtube.com
>Butcher's Tale cheers me up
and some flat-out cringy like anamanaguchi.
shit is too subjective to be categorized into a chart.
Also he got the wrong Fang Island record, someone on Sup Forums said that Major is music to high five to, and this person was damn right.
to be honest i don't remember much about the rest of this album, but this song in particular is very uplifting
...
Pretty much anything by Renard Queenston.
bossa nova-ambient is kind of boring imo
I'd pick psych pop-tropicalia over it, any day of the year
This is probably my favorite Dan Deacon album, although the only other ones I've heard are America and Gliss Riffer. This one's called Bromst.
I'm not sure I'd call that sample ambient, it's closer to jazz. I do like Brazilian psych pop though.

A Playlist
I haven't listened to Fang Island in a long time.
Surprised nobody'd mentioned this yet
OP here, thanks a ton everyone.
The replies alone are making me feel a little better.
I'm checking out each post and each album.
How could you think this was happy? This album is essential oh god what am I doing with my life I'm about to give up everything-core
I have a difficult time following along with/comprehending lyrics. I tend to listen to the sound of the vocals rather than the meaning, if that makes any sense.
