Roy Orbison has the greatest voice in pop/rock music history.
It's sad that he seems to be becoming increasingly more unheard of.

Thanks!
Thank you, had written those recs down but had too spotty Internet to thank you Did you do any of those 7 albums you got?
Jason Ortiz
Also, just to clarify, I'll rate the albums I will listen to from now on I simply didn't want to give any rating to the albums I've already heard This moment is a new page, a new beginning.
Jose White
Wait, Musical Abortions was always in that chart? Oh wow

Yesterday I listened to Roots by Sepultura with a high fever and coming from 2 whole days of fasting because of diarrhoea. Southern Italy is REALLY Africa. Right now I can hear from my window women chanting psalms in honour of the local saint and there's two policemen escorting the statue, which is brought all around the town by feet while a marching band plays traditional tunes. If I wasn't sober and feeling better I would have thought it to be a hallucination from the fever. Roots was good btw but I'm pretty biased towards nu-metal
Eli Carter
so ive been listening to a bit of jazz recently, and i noticed something that's been bugging me a lot, and that is that some jazz musicians seem to have a phase of making stupid album titles with their name on them, specifically Miles Davis. MILEStones, MILES ahead, MILES sMILES, MILES in the sky, etc. i also noticed john coltrane does this a lot too, Soul TRANE, TRANEing in, etc
do all jazz players go through a phase where they just have to meme their album names?
Nathaniel Peterson
it was added the last time that chart got updated
guess it goes to show that if you post it in daily it's officially poseur

Which has been your favorite so far?
It's either pretty lazily made, or it's actually pretty effective at getting a rise out of the most people possible. I suspect both.

THANK YOU for appreciating good posts i might have lost it

My favorite out of that chart is The Pop Group And don't get me wrong, I hadn't used the poseurcore chart as a means of guidance before. The ones marked are albums I had discovered and listened by other means (like hearing TMR from Sup Forums or Faust by Scaruffi). This is the first time I will actually try listening to albums from the chart with the intention of finishing it.
Elijah Myers
no, I forgot. I'll do that soon.

It's plugging me in. Hold on.

Can anybody recommend any chilled out songs similar to Love Street and Riders on the Storm by The Doors?
Light and breezy, gentle guitars. Doesn't have to have vocals.

it sucks that you're sick, but what you're describing does sound quite amazing, especially during feverish trip

That sounds kinda weird, wouldn't the saved costs from being more efficient from having laptops outweigh the costs of buying a router? That should be like 2 min work if you already have wired connections right?

les rallizes denudes - blind baby has its mothers eyes
the title track opens with some ominous guitar noise, giving way to a slow, almost sludgy beat/bassline, with a violent mizutani solo. this song, while having a similar "formula" to most lrd songs, sounds little like the fare on 77 live. instead of melancholic, it sounds menacing, mizutani sounding vaguely threatening in his vocals instead of wounded. the guitar feedback conveys anger much more than they do suffering. the latter half of the track plays with feedback very well, creating walls of distorted noise.
Bentley James
an awful eternity sounds evil, featuring slow, groaning feedback tones. the beat to it is very primal, and cymbals aside it reminds me of a velvet underground drum track. mizutanis vocals are more reverbed than usual, and he sounds disgusted at something. the midsection of the track has some especially scorching high pitched soloing, into an almost ambientesque section of quieter guitar noise over the repetitive rhythm line, before returning to the earlier sound.
Blake Wood
finally, there is a slow, almost mournful version of the last one. it is similar to the earlier tracks, with the noisy streams of feedback, and slower than usual basslines. but it lacks the anger of the first two songs. if an awful eternity is the death of the universe, the last one is its funeral march. the drums take a much more muted stance, leaving mizutanis wailings (both vocally and guitar) at the center stage. the middle of the track is based around a single wall of feedback, which leads to a crescendo of noise and pounding drums. the noise slowly fades downward, getting quieter as the song progresses to its finale, as it ends with the other misconstrued stopping, leaving the feedback alone to end.
in short this album is nasty, hateful and one of lrd's best. a definite future favorite. 9/10

good thing too. kanzler should have picked up my burning hatred for future funk. comus really is top tier btw.
Juan Taylor
>kanzler should have picked up my burning hatred for future funk oh jesus he's undoing the momentum we got because of Comus fuck ;_;
welp, at least I'm safe from elimination
Also, glad you loved em, I wasn't sure about the rec because you generally don't seem to be too on board with old music but luckily Comus isn't your typical kind of old music.
Hudson Price
i'm alright with older music as long as it brings something new to the table. it just feels like older music is understandably a lot more samey. ideas took a lot longer to fully spread, and therefore resulted in a lot of albums that do exactly the same thing, with "classic" albums only doing them slightly better than their counterparts. though that's still partially true today, there's just more to listen too and more freedom to create what you want when you want. it's so weird to me to see albums like Histoire de Melody Nelson getting so much praise for loosely putting spoken word over art pop, when new shit that's actually pushing the boundaries of what sound can do in general is being passed off as being "too weird" or "wank". First Utterance took a lot from music of the period, but took so many ballsy moves that I can't help but enjoy it. It's telling when albums like FI and Meet The Residents were panned on initial release.
Robert Sanchez
10 albums here so I hope you all don’t hope some of these being much shorter than they should be.
>Sasha and John Digweed – Northern Exposure Really fantastic. One of the best albums I’ve heard so far on this chart, and for sure one of the best bleep albums from the Sup Forums-core chart. Be ashamed of yourself for not hearing this. Could definitely see this going up in the future. 8
>Sal Mineo – Xiu Xiu + Eugene S. Robinson Present: Sal Mineo Thought I was going to hate this. Have really not enjoyed many non-mainline Xiu Xiu projects, and I didn’t really know what to expect with the edition of Oxbow’s frontman. However, this proved to be a really interesting and underrated project from them. Reminds me a bit of Negativland with its Sound Poetry/Spoken Word elements and it even has some EAI/field recordings strapped in that I found genuinely enjoyable. Could see this score decreasing in the future, honestly, but for now it’s something I enjoy immensely. 8
>久石譲 - 千と千尋の神隠し Can’t even front, this was great. The fusion of modern classical and Japanese folk music was very welcome, plus, I felt this had the most variation of any of his OSTs I’d heard so far. 7
>久石譲 – Hana-bi Just like the film, a bit soul-crushing and very memorable. Would’ve been one of the best OSTs ever if it didn’t resort so often to repetition, which takes place not just outside the songs but in repeating reprise-esque tracks which felt unneeded. 7
>久石譲 - 菊次郎の夏 A lot like Hana-bi’s OST, but a bit more new age and less memorable in general. Gee, I really wish these OSTs left me with more to say about them, but what can you say from a composer that’s so formulaic you occasionally forget which movie’s OST you’re listening to? 6

Sebastian Peterson
>久石譲 - もののけ姫 My least favorite from this guy that I’ve heard. This was the last of his albums I’d heard and his modern classical approach here more than ever began to show its formulaic-ness. I enjoyed the occasional fusion of tribal elements, but this 30+ track listing leaves a lot to be desired. 6
> µ-Ziq – Lunatic Harness Had a couple entertaining moments, but nah, appreciated that atmosphere but it seems D&B in general is just something I can’t really appreciate. 5
>植松伸夫 - Final Fantasy IV Worst FF OST I’ve heard yet. Just as boring and chopped up as some of the others, but this one felt more pinned down by the fact that everything took place in the SNES’ sound cart, which occasionally could be a force to be reckoned with. Here, however, it felt like an hour of pretty much the same instruments going at it over and over again. Uematsu has done much better on the SNES, so I’m not sure why this one is so praised. If it weren’t for the spectacular ending track, this would’ve received a really harsh kick in the balls. 4
>Andy Stott – Faith in Strangers Other than the s/t track and “Violence” this really didn’t do it for me. Kinda mediocre ambient dub, not that that’s a genre I think too highly of. 4
>Alec Empire – The Destroyer Listening to this feels like babysitting a sugar-loaded child. Edgiest breakcore I’ve ever heard but I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s more. 3
David Garcia
hey he hasn't done me or vinter yet

Have you heard this crazy single Tony McKay released before he became Exuma? Figured I might as well post it since some of you like him.
as the tourney goes still need recs from anonymouse (instrumental) jim jazz (passionate) also note to tuco- I will do dead man but since it's not entirely instrumental, I will subtract one point from the raw score for the tourney score if you're okay with that tell me, otherwise I'll need another rec

Kazumoto Endo - Brick and Mortar (2003) >harsh noise
The lesser sequel to While You Were Out. It tries a bit too hard to recapture the energy, playfulness, and uniqueness of it's predecessor and it never really assumes its own identity. It's also more of a straight-up harsh noise album, there are still samples here but they're used less interestingly, they're mutilated and turned up to 11 but they're never incorporated into the noise as seamlessly as they are on While You Were Out. Ocasionally, Endo does capture lightning in a bottle, and makes some of the most powerful, flat-out enjoyable harsh noise ever put to record, but these moments are kind of sparse, even if the album as a whole is enjoyable to listen to. There's not a sour note here (okay, there are a lot of sour notes here, it's a fucking noise album), but it rarely does anything to really impress.
