Sleaford Mods - Divide And Exit

Murder Ballads seems a bit out of place there, it's not even Cave's more post-punkier stuff

released January 16, 2016

Needs more than any other day by Ought

I assume you know about the new viet cong, savages, parquet courts, etc.

penis on edge

Maybe a controversial opinion but I thought this was a really good post-punk album, obviously on the indie pop end of the post-punk spectrum though

Only one album per band.

>Sleaford Mods - Divide And Exit

This is pretty good.

Arab on Radar - Yahweh or the Highway

bump

>Rule of Thirds - Rule of Thirds
>Horrid Red - Celestial Joy
>The Projects - Electrichka's Favourite Party Record
>The Cameras - The Cameras
>Утpo - Утpo

Where is Besatmilk - Climax

I'd swap light up gold for the new one human performance, it's more post-punk

IMO Forever is the better Holograms album

Also I'm more fond of You're Nothing than Plowing Into the Fields of Love but I'm probably in the minority

It's done.

Women's s/t and Yuppies' s/t are great

>Yuppies' s/t

omission of Interpol is just jarring. I mean, you can say what you want about them, but how the fuck can you put Savages up there and not Interpol

Reminder that there is no such thing as modern post-punk. At the most it was a movement, in practice it was more like the second wave of punk. The aspects that make something post-punk lie more in the time it was made in, and not some cliché about bass lines and deep vocals. Claiming post-punk is some genre you can replicate just shows you have a very shallow understanding of it. Post-punk encompassed everything from new wave to industrial, it died once all the subgenres it acted as an umbrella for either died or outgrew each other in the mid 80s.

The real reason there's no good "post-punk" album in our time is because everything we have is basically just a parody of the classics, and anything genuine is filed as literally any other genre because if you can only look into the past for definitions, there are no more boundaries to break.

Now, fuck off with your retarded shit chart.
