Overall, it's my 3rd favorite NIN record, behind TDS and Broken. I don't think it sounds as dated as people say. Songs like Terrible Lie, Sanctified, Kinda I want To, and Sin are all funky as shit, and the scratchy synth at the end of Terrible Lie is one of my favorite musical "moments"
