But that is exactly why MBDTF is great. It is the honesty with which he talks about himself and fame that makes this record unique, he took a theme which is distant and seemingly shallow to us average folk, and made it relatable - he sees the weaknesses of both the celebrity lifestyle and himself. If you have even a bit of empathy you will easily understand why it's a great record.

The real 10/10

This

The mastering of this album is so terrible. It would be much better if it got cleaned up.

but he's a terrible vocalist when it comes to getting emotions across, just doesn't sound expressive in any way, all emotional content is in the tired and done chord progressions, oh yeah and the lyrics are marred by bullshit

there should be an unmastered flac in the archive

>but he's a terrible vocalist when it comes to getting emotions across

True, but he lets the music do it for him. Take for example how in Power at about 2:55 he says "at the end of the day goddammit I'm killing this shit" - which is just about as boastful as your average rap album. But the weak piano melody that comes at the same time adds a sense that, while boasting, he actually sees himself just as pathetic as that piano melody. So the lyrics like that, which really are "marred with bullshit", always add to some broader sense of the album's theme in one way or another.

Clean your ears out mate.
