Now this is more I like it

> he actually took Sky Ferreira out of the collage

Kys

I'm sorry my man, had to make room for Belinda and Kate

But here:

>grimeth
the only flaw

>the same waifufag artists every day

Friendly reminder that Grimes is better than everyone else on that collage

Fiona is in that pile as well

insulting b8

I make the collage based on the frequency of certain female artists that are mentioned here on a regular basis. I'll make sure to try to change it up a little next time

Y'all mean white female, right OP?

Any Courtney Barnett fans?

Esperanza Spalding is top tier waifu material

Yeah

I've got a huge thing for lesbians

Missing from the 3x3 alongside Beyonce, Jlin, Gangsta Boo, FKA Twigs, Cecile McLorin Savant, Noname

Thoughts on Empress Of?

Share a good song from her please?

>forgetting Ladybug Mecca

youtube.com/watch?v=tuzGmGotqgw

Double EP or Sometimes I sit?

I personally prefer the Double EP.

youtube.com/watch?v=bcnIhzaDTd0

easily her best

Cooly G, Azealia Banks, Janelle Monae, Matana Roberts, Sha-Rock, Cam & China, Ciara

Thanks guys

>Azealia Banks
she seems like she's crazy af but damn

>grimes
>better than kate bush
shit taste

this, idk who could possibly think that

Grimes will always be objectively inferior to Kate Bush

>Hounds of Love

Who's your favourite Sup Forums?
Mines either Joanna or Kate, but they're all good

Joanna = Kate = Björk > Liz > Annie = Belinda > Julia > Angel >>>>>> Gene Simmons >>>>> Grimeth

I can't make a full judgement desu because I haven't been able to listen to Liz or Julia just yet but Annie is still my favorite. But yeah, all these women make great music

listen to Actor and Dragging A Dead Deer Up A Hill

...

And this is for which artist?

St. Vincent and Grouper respectively

I would replace St. Vincent with Sky Ferreira

otherwise, pretty solid. except Grimes, qt or not, kind of sucks now

Oh I have all of Annie's music. But I'll make sure to check out that Liz record when I get the chance. Do you have an opinion on the best starter album for Julia?

let's be real. Bilinda is top qt. easily.

Okay guys I'm pretty bad when it comes to female artists.

Any great and accessible albums you guys would recommend to get me started?

Have you not listened to any of the women in the OP pic???

Only Kate Bush

Butcher's vocals have been referred to as a trademark of My Bloody Valentine's sound, alongside Kevin Shields' guitar techniques. On a number of occasions during the recording of Isn't Anything, Butcher was awoken and recorded vocals, which she said "influenced [her] sound" by making them "more dreamy and sleepy". A similar process was used during the recording of Loveless, on which her vocals have been described as "dreamy [and] sensual". Explaining the situation, Butcher said: "often when we do vocals, it's 7:30 in the morning; I've usually just fallen asleep and have to be woken up to sing … I'm usually trying to remember what I've been dreaming about when I'm singing".[15]

that's so cute. dreamy girl.

Haha that's awesome

That reminds me, I think I once read that for the song Planet Telex, Thom was apparently drunk on the floor when he recorded the vocals

For these artists I know well I would start with:
Annie Clark - Actor
Bjork - Homogenic
Angel Olsen - Half Way Home
Grimes - Visions
Joanna Newsom- YS

And Belinda was in MBV of course. Please tell me you've listened to Loveless??

Thanks a lot my man, appreciate.

I haven't listened to it, I guess I really am bad with female artists.

Hopefully this will fix it.

>Haven't listened to Loveless yet
>mfw
Just kidding, I'm not actually trying to make you feel bad or anything, it's just amazing that's all. I know it's Sup Forumscore but it's really good desu

Also, you're quite welcome :)

You're off to a good start, some really great female artists on this list and the rest are at least pretty good. MBV, Bjork, Kate Bush, Grouper, and Julia Holter are essential. Angel Olsen, Joanna Newsom, Grimes, are pretty good too. Annie Clark is aight.

Also, definitely get into Cocteau Twins and Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac, Laurie Spiegel, Julee Cruise, Mazzy Star/Hope Sandoval, and Slowdive.

Best Julia album to start with my good man?

OP of I'll add these to the list. Thanks again Sup Forumstants

I don't quite understand your tastes, Sup Forums. New here, never heard of many of the artists mentioned. Tried most of them out, but none of them really resonated with me. Here are a few I'm into.

youtube.com/watch?v=izs6CWpp9Xs

youtube.com/watch?v=23fRxLNbOvU

youtube.com/watch?v=jo1cyl0QbWo

I feel like saying her first or her most recent - Tragedy or Have You in My Wilderness

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. But any reason why you're conflicted to choose one between the two? hahah

just because her work has been consistent but definitely progressing along certain lines - so you can start most recent and follow it back into vaguer work, or vice versa

>general thread about music girls
>guys actually getting each other into new music

And people complained we're the new Kpop general. Pssh, my ass.

That's because, improbably, all the girls in the thread are actually good artists for once, rather than just Lauren Mayberry or kpop or whatever.

The good artists of the original post set a good precedent for the direction of the thread.

Mitski fans?

I haven't listen to this one because I wanted the hype to die down. Is it any good?

Nice collage. Grimes ftw!

Of course she is. She's the new and improved Kate Bush.

not a huge fan of most female vocals
i dig this chick however:

youtube.com/watch?v=1y2wnxZCxq0

Andie Case is her name. she's perfect.

pic slightly unrelate. a beautiful young Bjork

Visions > Hounds of Love. Visions is much more innovative, catchier, and with better songs. Hounds of Love sounds like your ordinaty 80s pop album, Visions sounds like the future.

Loud City Song and then Have You in My Wilderness.

Good selection but I'd replace the difficult Homogenic with Post.

You will never eat her taco.

I would eat it.

but you won't

as much as it pains me to say it.

...

who?

youtube.com/watch?v=8QSgNM9yNjo

Has Angel Olsen's album leaked? I'm too lazy to check for myself

Yes. It's pretty good. I didn't like her before.

you do realize she would be the next most popular right

Take out Holter before the waifufags find her

Agree. 100% unironically.

People want to ignore that post idler wheel Fiona exists

Stay calm. Holter is just too normal (girl next door) looking to be interesting to waifufags.

Any love for Hinds?
They all qts

yeah but at least she doesn't have a fucking daily thread dedicated to posting pictures of her.

this, Joni Mitchell doesn't get enough love here

> NO RACHEL GOSWELL
>NO MOLLY RANKIN

SHIT SHIT SHIT TASTE

Stay mad, asshat. _|_

holter was one of the biggest waifus back in 2013-14, newfriends
waifuing her is dead and gone though so it's all calm

>Nobody ever talks about Miharu Koshi
>Nobody ever talks about Gudrun Gut
>Nobody ever talks about Anita Lane'

Never heard of them. Post their best songs, maybe some folks and me will listen to them.

the waifufags found her years ago, that's why you know her

What an absolute travesty, a disgrace

OK, I will listen to them soon.

Cool
Yeah. One of my favourites

Listened to Miharu Koshi — Image so far. I like the instrumentals but her voice reminds me of Joanna Newsom... Not my style.

>Gudrun Gut - Simply The Best
Wait a minute: that Tina Turner song was cover?

Yeah she did a cover. I prefer cover over orginal

btw, I like her voice. Very Jennifer Charles-style.

Whose? Gudrun Gut's?

Anyone likes...
Hope Sandoval
Emily Haines
Bat For Lashes
Debbie Harry
Siouxsie Sioux
Danielle Dax
Toni Halliday
Chrissie Hynde
Stevie Nicks

There are lots of female artists who deserve to be mentioned in this collage. Why did you place Grimes here? She already has her own daily /general/, and she gets more attention on Sup Forums than any other female artist, it's unfair.

Yes. Pretty similar to Elysian Fields' vocalist: youtube.com/watch?v=PMcnswty798

Jessica Pratt is better than Grimeth but she's not waifu material so she doesn't make the cut. Sad bros.

Leave Grimes alone. Why everyone has a problem with her?

Yeah it's pretty similiar!

Oh and also
>Diamanda Galas
