I played this album and my girlfriends son told me to turn that gay shit off. I think it might be gay shit but I really like it.

disappointing. andrew jackson jihad turned their back on the isolation and anxiety they had expressed in their earlier work, and it translated to this boring, unoriginal record. total tumblr-core "self-positivity" shit.

It's a sad time for them, their glory days are behind them and it was all downhill from Knife Man. They were still pretty good when I saw them live in the Knife Man era, but I'm pretty damn sure I'll just be disappointed.

I haven't listened to it but it's bad

I preferred Christmas Island, don't know why that record gets so much hate. This just felt pretty bland in comparison IMO. Their best days are probably over. In a decade or so I could see Sean putting out a decent solo album or something like that.

Also, if you're triggered about the name change then you're probably just as obnoxious as the people who were offended by it to begin with. It's not that big of a deal.

So am I correct in understanding that what's on the bandcamp right now isn't the full album? I think what they have so far is alright. First two tracks are kinda meh, but as a whole I think it's good. It sounds like what Christmas Island wanted to be. I don't even hate Christmas Island, but a lot of the tracks were just too low energy for me.

I liked it but not as much as I liked Christmas Island which is my favourite album of theirs to date. The Bible 2 has some really good songs, probably their best to date but it's mostly forgettable but not bad songs and the album is really short. Maybe I'll warm up to it over time.

I'm glad they don't have edgy distracting lyrics now, at least less noticeable.

...but seriously, I'd like some actual opinions. I thought Christmas Island was alright, like 5 or 6/10, but the singles I've heard from this album (Goodbye, Junkie Church) left a really bad taste in my mouth. Should I just skip this one or are other songs better?

I thought the whole thing was a lot weaker compared to their older stuff and I don't think it's anywhere near good as Christmas Island (which I thought was just okay), but it's still a pretty good album I think. My favorite tracks are probably American Garbage or Small Red Boy
