Typical dadrock, and not even good dadrock. I use to love Dream On as teen, but now I just think it's cringey as fuck

>If you're literate it's like that you don't like Aerosmith.
>it's like that you don't like
ironing

I totally deserved that.

I got nothing. I fucked up.

If you're using Sup Forums it's likely that you're literate.

If you're literate it's likely that you don't like Aerosmith.

Aw, user. Don't be sad

its cool your quads redeemed you

Buttiest of buttrock. May as well be assrock.

Rocks and Toys in the Attic are decent records when I'm in the mood for them.

They're ultimately a poor man's Rolling Stones, however.

I had an autistic coworker once who was obsessed with Aerosmith. He once played some of their super-early stuff for me and it was just straight blues and I thought it was pretty good. Can't remember any song names or anything though.

Other than that, they're annoying as fuck.

I enjoyed PUMP when I was a teen. Thumbs up from me.

Rocks is a fucking great album

Christgau had a huge boner for them for some reason.

Blues influence

good tier
>dream on

ok tier
>dude looks like a lady

cool bassy synth intro tier
>jannys god a gun

shit tier
>every other song they ever recorded

so you just admitted to knowing nothing but their shitty hair metal stuff?

He liked them because they were a basic barroom-style bl00z rock band without the over-the-top stadium rock malarkey.

"Their knack for the basic song and small interest in guitar-hero costume drama always made them hard rock that deserved the name, not to mention an American band."

That's probably it more than the blues sound itself because he's liked plenty of punk bands that had no blues in their sound.

Dave Geffen was taking a big chance signing them after years of shitty albums and their substantial drug problems. At least after DMW bombed, he didn't turn around and sue them for making unsellable albums like he did with Neil Young.

>no sweet emotion

Sameshit as RHCP.

>be crazy drugged up funk rock band
>fall off the radar, get cleaned up, come back as a blah Top 40 song factory for normalfags

They got a few good songs. I'd stick on a greatest hits if I was interested. Guns n Roses are probably a better band

RHCP didn't use professional songwriters. Nu Aerosmith were a fucking joke.

He had to be the only person on the planet who thought DWM and GAG (appropriate acronym there) were good albums.

Proof that the USA makes shit music

LOLve is an elevatorrrrrrrrrr

And what shithole do you hail from perchance.

So what Aerosmith song do you like? Power ballad or funky country rock number.

Last Child is my favorite Aerosmith tune. I love that one.

Better than Zeppelin.

Not that everyone here is wrong to call them buttrock/dadrock, but you have to appreciate it for what it is. Bands like Aerosmith and Foo Fighters and AC/DC were never trying to push the rock genre they were in it almost solely for the fun (and the money) and there's nothing wrong with that, because their music is fun.

The guy that sings Dream On at a karaoke bar or something is going to have a whole lot more fun with the entire place and make more friends while the guy who requests Trout Mask Replica is just gonna get weird looks.

Aerosmith were actually pretty significant in moving rock forward; they influenced all the 80s bands and introduced several new ideas such as Steven Tyler's vocals; there wasn't a rock frontman before who sounded at all like him.
