>Locality Mexico City : Nahuas
>They speak Nahuatl, I can't speak it and don't see a need to

They are call french people and I can speak their language.

Finnish, yes

Indigenous people is stupid term. Most people would say Slovaks are indigenous but before us Celts lived there and before them Avars, before them Huns and who know who else. Same as native americans immigrated from Sibir

>Who are the indigenous people of your locality?
>Can you speak their language?

cute pic
is that girl your typical 1/275 cherokee-american?

Sardinian

No

Võro, yes

The renaissance and start of modern history is as good of a cutoff point as any to determine indigenous people since that's when people started to record population data in detail and local languages started to be written down.

So congratulations, you're indigenous.

Southern coastal California.

Chumash people. I doubt I will ever learn Chumash.

However there's a bunch of Mixtec people here from Mexico and Mixteco is pretty commonly spoken near me, I hear it occasionally when I am out and we have a local radio station that uses it. There is not much learning material for it though (although there is a big community in my town who trains translators, but they mainly train the native speakers themselves to triple translate Mixteco-English-Spanish)

Might just end up learning Nahuatl because it has more learning resources and literature and it's the one Chicano memesters always pick up, so I would have more people to talk with (plus, Nahuatl has easy pronunciation, while Mixtec is tonal--doable, but obviously more difficult for an English-speaker). If I went with a non-Mexican lang it would probably be Navajo, because as sad as it is to let the smaller languages die off, there are some that have a chance of reaching a stable condition if they gain some more momentum soon and Navajo is one of those.

Ah, the original language.

>Who are the indigenous people of your locality?
Yaqui tribe

Does this mean you'll finally admit Felvidék is rightful Hungarian clay?

The Kanza.....they're all dead and their language became extinct in the 1980s.

But thats where Kanzaz gets it's name I think : people of the south wind or something like that

The Ngai Tahu tribe are the local tribe for the South Island of New Zealand. The Maori didn't settle much in the South Island so it was dominated by a single tribe.

No, those people live in reservations away from the rest of people and the only times I see them is when the husbands send their women to towns and cities to beg so they can use the money they get to go to drink.
