Yah. I dont own a player either because I see no point of listening for the "warmth", its just really nice to own it physically & get bigger artwork. Maybe once I get more room, i'll get a set up but for now I'm content listening digitally.
Nice cop. That album rules.
Literally same mentality as me. Cash isn't an issue for me so I just collect as a hobby and maybe one day will build a setup but I also happen to be lazy
anyone get these yesterday?
me too. I just got this. but it doesn't come out til next month.

just got this 5" at cornelius show, one of the greatest shows i will ever witness
Got that on simple black, but that colored actually looks pretty sweet.
Yeah but I've been picking up more CDs lately because I'll be driving around more with the latest cop being pic related
Here's my entire collection

Got these two today.
Giles corey was fucking expensive but I like it too much to not own it.
Here the codes if someone wants to try them.
Nice of you to post them kind user.
I love vinyls but it's just so much easier a,d cheaper to collect CDs. I have just over a dozen vinyls but around 100 CDs. I torrent a chunk of my music so it's also a part of how I give back.

Great
Future Days is original US press from 1974
In the mail:
The Shangri-Las - Golden Hits (Mono)
Tomorrow I'll go out and look for some nice vintage stereo equipment. I'm in need for a receiver and a pair of speakers.
What should I take into account while picking them? People say a lot about turntables and sometimes speakers, but never about vintage receivers and amps.
Google "[make/model] audiokarma" and read forum posts to get a handle on what people think about the unit. Don't spend much money unless you can hook up the unit to test it first. Some signs of a good vintage receiver: really heavy and encased in wood.
nice
cool shit
I dont collect I just listen
How much did the can run yeah?
Is the wood case actually essential or just for looks?
I need to grab future days for real.
What album is that?
It's a sign that the unit cost more money at the time of its release. A heavy case also reduces vibration, but mainly it's an indicator of build quality
what are vinyl players?
40 bucks, the vinyl is a solid VG+. Original master is cool, I had downloaded a few different versions and they all mixed the vocals differently. Damo is a little quieter on this press, about the same volume as the guitar and drums
I'm not sure how many of you are that lucky, but what are the chances to find a top receiver like that in fully working conditions without getting jewed on?
How much would you pay for it?

Out of all the accepted terms, people choose to use "vinyls" Hell, I'd even accept vinyl, but vinyls? The word doesn't exist in the English language
Well I don't know where you're looking or what you're willing to spend. Middle-of-the-line receivers from the 70s by Pioneer or Kenwood can be found on craigslist in the $100-200 range. You can get fully serviced pioneers or low end marantz units for $150-250 online that sound excellent and are built like tanks. In vintage audio, you really get exactly what you pay for so if you don't want to spend any money you'll have to settle for a cheapo 80s japanese deck by onkyo or something.
I got a few
Kvelertak self titled
You're gonna need bigger bait
Yeah, the thing is I already have a cheap-ass setup, an AT-LP120 connected directly to a single general-purpose amplified speaker. Actually it sounds okay but the speaker itself has lots of hiss and the single speaker doesn't sound good with panning stereo. I just want a decent receiver and pair of speakers, I don't exactly look for top of the lines but if I can get those with a reasonable price then that'll be okay too.
I've been searching the internet prices for vintage stuff and the middle-tier stuff is going for around $100, but I wonder if I can find it cheaper on actual stores.
Thanks dude
>Moondog was at your middle of nowhere Books-a-Million
>didn't snatch it up because you weren't aware that a EX to Mint copy is valued at $160
>go back today

All of you need to be fucking shot. You shouldn't be allowed to listen to music.
You fucked up
The LP-120 isn't even a bad turntable though. Upgrade the cartridge to a shure m97xe or an ortofon 2m red and hook it up to a decent receiver and it'll sound great. I have cheap speakers myself (Miccas) because I do most of my listening through headphones.
You'll have better luck on craigslist than thrift stores. I go to thrift stores all the time and 95% of the audio equipment is trash.
also this for playing them
In real life I've only heard girls say vinyls.
How much was it priced at?
I've tried Craigslist, it's empty. No one in Brazil uses them
Yeah as i said this is the first "record" i bought, do you expect me to know every term for it as a completely new person within this? Stop trying to act superiour because you know more in this than me, it doesn't make you look cool it just makes you look like a know it all autist.
$35
I recommend getting a player asap, Got my 1984 dual for 150 bucks and plays like a charm
please stop
I've only got slightly more than a full Expedit shelf.
The rest (awful cheap crap that didn't have anything interesting for sampling/music) is in bags.
Most recent buys (from thrift stores, around $3 each:
VA - Best of Car Wash
The Moody Blues - In Search for the Lost Chord (basically bought this cuz the artwork is p cool)
O.C. Smith - Love is Forever
Hot & Blue - Norske Rytmekonger/NRK
Pete Wingfield - Breakfast Special
Attitudes - Good News
> Basically bought this cuz the artwork is p cool
>same reason i bought it
It's not directed at you. It's just the bafflement of where the abomination "vinyls" originated, when there is a plethora of actual words one can use.
Researching something before you buy it is usually a good idea, especially with something as delicate as a record.
You're the retard here.
just bought the piper at the gates of dawn reissue
i don't even like this album tbqh
...
I research computer parts before i buy them, not a vinyl record.
I'm probably gonna frame 9 of them in a big frame and hang it up on the wall. :)
