New AJJ album. Thoughts?

New AJJ album. Thoughts?

it's not very good. pretty disappointing overall.
probably going to get a lot of shit for them changing their name, but I don't think it really matters. I'll keep calling them Andrew Jackson Jihad, even if they don't.

Also, isn't it kind of strange that they changed their name not to offend people and then release an album called "The Bible 2?"

Suprise, It's Shit

>listening to nu male music

What does this mean

>i-i-if i use buzzwords they'll think im cool!

It's Christmas Island 2.0
It's got some ok moments and one liners, but it's their weakest for sure.

All i wanted was another Can't Maintain or PwcePatlPitw.

Also
>AJJ
Fucking pussies.

>It's Christmas Island 2.0

lolno

Whatever, still their worse.

but if Christmas Island is their worst than how can this one be their worst???

>le cuck

Because xmas island is better than this.

It's better than christmas island, I'm not exactly a fan of the vocal filter they use, but it's alright.

lmao

>Liking Sup Forums memes

Listening to it now, really liked track one and didn't mind track 2. Track 3 is pretty shit so far. Trying to not let the whole name change debacle cloud my judgement of the album.

Pretty "meh".
Really bothers me that there's build up in some songs that leads to fucking nothing.

It's just really okay.
I liked Christmas Island a bit even though I thought it was their weakest release at the time, but this one easily takes its place. I don't think it's a bad album at all, it's just nowhere near as good as their older stuff.

Can someone explain why the name change would even be big deal for some people?

They changed the name because they thought it was "problematic" (i shit you not, thats the actual word they used) and that some people had problems to it due to their religion.Basically, they didn't want to offend muslims. THey then proceed to release an album called "The Bible 2" because double standarts lol.

I like Track 3 the best so far. Track one is no good.

it's shit. R

Maybe I read a different article or didn't see a twitter post or something, but I don't ever remember them using the term problematic. I also remember them straight up saying no one ever got offended by their name. Also really not seeing how naming an album "The Bible 2" is a double standard or going to piss anyone off.

But maybe I missed this stuff.

...

I don't understand

It was what they posted on their official FB page:

"Hi Gang! Big news today.
We are officially changing our name from Andrew Jackson Jihad to the simple, familiar abbreviation that most of you already call us: AJJ.
The two biggest reasons for this are:
1.) We are not Muslims, and as such, it is disrespectful and irresponsible for us to use the word jihad in our band's name.
2.) We no longer wish to be a living reminder of president Andrew Jackson. Interesting historical figure as he was, he was an odious person and our fascination with him has grown stale.
We are very sorry to any people the name has offended. We would like to thank those who have reached out over the years to let us know that the name is problematic, especially those who reached out with kindness. Had we known in 2004 that we would still be making music together 12 years later, we most certainly would have chosen a more thoughtful name from the start.
The name AJJ fits us better than Andrew Jackson Jihad. It has been our nickname for those in the know forever. It hearkens back to the great skatepunk bands like JFA, FYP, LFO, etc... It also retains, even amplifies the quality that I liked about the name Andrew Jackson Jihad; that it can be interpreted in different ways. Now that we are AJJ we can be "Arizona Juvenile Justice", "Anonymous Junk Jugglers," "Actress January Jones" (Chris Farren thought of that one) the possibilities are endless and we're very excited to see what you all come up with.
Now that we are officially and proudly AJJ, we would like to share our new song "Now That I'm at the Top of my Game." We recorded it in Dallas with John Congleton while making our forthcoming album. This song seemed confident enough to stand on it's own.
The video was made by Karin Graham, Mark Glick, Mark Roebuck and Sean out of some stock footage of body builders and Sean's crooked teeth.
Thank you all so much for reading, for listening, and for being so good to us for all these years"

So why is the name change a big deal?

>>Sup Forums

AJJ has been on a downhill slope their entire career, name change and bad releases are just symptoms.

Shows they're spineless pussies that are willing to change something that is part of their identity because someone got "offended". Some punks they bloody are.

And even disregarding that, this album is still pretty weak.

>change something that is part of their identity
Nigga it is just a band name.

just stop, delusional Sup Forumstards like feeling as though they're fighting some righteous cause, and you're just feeding into his sick fantasy
no one cares about this band or their name and you're a closeted racist, please fuck off

Anyone got dat mega/zippy link pls?
