anime edition

Go Gibson or go home.

REEEEEEEE

sick dubs sub edition

Finally nutting up and buying myself a new bass guitar. Will be picking up an EQ pedal as well to experiment with the tones.
Any Schecter fans or those that dive off the main road for bass guitars?

sweetwater.com/store/detail/STST5HSN

>Any Schecter
no you fucking idiot

have 2 serious guitars, what strings for my dumb Drop Bb 6-string?

shoe strings

animeme

buying an eq pedal when you're buying an active bass with a preamp is redundant.

~60, more or less depending on your scale lenght and preference

Even if they're passive pickups?

what is a good way to get Yngwie style picking down?

Been doing this for four years, actually mildly successful at it

I just heard Portrait of Tracy the other day. It's awesome.

Sorta want to put together a demo, even though I suck and I have no material so far.

they're passive pickups, but there's an active EQ on that bass.
the Ibanez SR50x and up have bartolini(or nordstrand on the really high end I think) pickups if you don't want EMGs.

Thank you for the information, I'll look in to it.

should I buy pedals even if I'm not good at guitar yet? I hear a good way to learn is by learning songs, and it is hard to imitate sounds with, might I say, orgasmic cleans all the time

dumb fuck why did you put the /gg/ in the subject box? now the shitters are here

just pirate rocksmith 2014 and get the hack so you can just plug the guitar in to your computer's mic jack with an adapter. The simulated effects are shit quality but enough to keep you interested when you're starting out

...

I don't have any cables to plug into computer with

lol

>I don't have any cables to plug into computer with
a 6 foot cable for that costs like 5 dollars, and an adapter that goes on the end of a normal cable is even less

Then order one. A cheap one's like $10.

if it is what it takes I will do what I must

>tfw shitter
>tfw just searched "/gg/" in catalog

I unironically agree with this sentiment.

Chris Kyle: the world's deadliest sniper. R.I.P. true American hero.

In case as anyone cares, I figured out how to turn my 2x12 combo into a 2x12 cabinet. Total cost: ~$80

This will hold me over until I buy a 2x12 Laney and a Orange Rockerverb

>trips on a bait post

anyone got a good torrent on standalone POD farm that works with 3rd party interfaces?

thanks mutants

no you fucking idiot

what makes you assume his post was bait?

>Go Gibson or go home.
Home is where all my guitars are. 0 gibsons.

GO GRETSCH OR GO HOME

...

Honest question... What the fuck is "shoegaze"?

something we should never talk about

In about ten more minutes you can have this deadzone all to yourself, my red assed newfriend.

H-hi /gg/.

I've never listened to shoegaze.
I'm listening to loveless because the only thing I know about shoegaze is pedals
so far it sounds like gay noise, I could like it if not for the vocals

was about to scream before I saw the slide. what tuning m8 ?

>posting my junk

I'm catching this band live next week.

Nice! You saved it! I'm flattered

...

I knew I should have never posted my gear here. I'm out /gg/

Ok. I wasn't really interested in it, basically because i didnt know what shoegaze was. Now I'm less interested. Thanks for the reply.

is that supposed to be shoegaze too ? because it sounds like the gay child of surf and new wave. But it's bothering me less than the vocals on Loveless, I always dislike the clash between clean vocals and harsh guitars.

However, I'll probably mod an RG and put some JM pickups in it because it could sound really interesting for black metal.

Just take a new pic every time to avoid having imposters. I don't understand why people here won't do this, it's a damn simple task for fuck's sake.

Is playing with them too.

Shoegaze has come to become associated with dreampop too. You can combine shoegaze with most things
youtube.com/watch?v=zs3xVfCG0Hg

This is a shoegaze cover of the beatles by a jap band.
youtube.com/watch?v=Nfm-fehAYx0

say that to my face irl and see what happens

youtu.be/VS6TYTzF7zs

Post-rock + shoegaze
youtu.be/HRVkFgJrQnk?t=20m24s

I like flat necks, the pickups in jazzmasters have an interesting tone, what would I lose modifying a guitar to suit my taste, aside from a stranger's approval on the internet ?

I guess I don't really like dreampop then.
I'd say you can combine a lot more genres than people think.
Also, is dissonant shoegaze a thing ? By dissonant I mean that kind of stuff.

Charlie?

There's blackgaze, that might kinda be what you're looking for.

>This is a shoegaze cover of the beatles by a jap band.
it's not on slsk, anyone have this? loving what I'm hearing

filename

oh I didn't realize that this is the guitar and bass thread
I'll ask in a sharethread, sorry guys

Have you heard of deafheaven? I'm not into metal but they're popular enough

It's on rutracker

...

...

as far as blackgaze goes, I'm not too much into it, I think it tries too hard to be different but doesn't manage to be that interesting either.
by dissonant I meant something that relies more on minor second/major seventh clashes and atonal melodies, not necessarily metal influenced

If there is then I don't know any of it. Maybe you should make some.

You might be more into noiserock, the cousinr of the reverb/pop infused shoegaze. It has those atonal dissonant elements you're looking for.

Both are in the same family of incorporating walls of sound, elements of texture and distorted, demphasized vocals (generally)

>but doesn't manage to be that interesting either
are you the same guy who posted this

$1600 used at a guitar center. Plays like a dream, sounds a little muddy but works great with the right EQ. Did I get ripped off?

post mememachines goobys

I probably would, if I knew a damn about shoegaze.

sounds more like grindcore meets j-pop to me, but I like it.

pretty sure you're going to need a thicker F#, 8 string sets are stupid and don't put a string thick enough for it. Go for something around .70 for it

>he payed 1600 actual dollars for that

Gooby you say?

mah gooby niqquh

Yeah, I grabbed a dunlop 10-74 set and that enhanced the tone and sustain on the F# considerably. I even tried to get thicker but I'd need the post bored out to fit more than what I've got.

Don't forget to add shipping

>replying to yourself

What ragas should I learn? I play a lot of psychedelic rock and would enjoy a base of Indian music.

So why did randy rhoads picked up the classical guitar? Was he trying to improve his overall guitar technique?

...

i dont get it lad

which is more cancerous, Metal Guitarists or Modern Prog Guitarists? (prog metal guitarists are an automatic tumor)

Metal probably

Post the most cancerous thing you can make

haloguitars.com/store/custom-guitars.html

>How long did you fa/gg/ots practice today?

isn't that just one of zakk wylde's new guitars

>(Pinch harmonic's internally)

He didn't just pick it up; he grew up around classical music and probably had some formal instruction on classical guitar in addition to his electric playing prior to his work with Quiet Riot and Ozzy. Anyway, according to some interviews I've read with Ozzy, Rhoads was either going to quit touring to take up classical guitar full time, or use what he'd learned in his studies to inform his writing with Ozzy's band; apparently Rhoads wanted to add more layered keys/synth parts to the band's music.

Hence, why he was murdered.

Should I buy this?

>Doesn't allow 12 strings

This guitar ensures that you do not get pussy user, stop playing djentcore or anything that ends with core.

>when the spray tan hits your teeth

if you do I'll buy this

>multiscale fretless is an option
that's beyond stupid
also I name this one "the neckdive"

Didn't he die in a plane crash?

I play mostly jazz with that, thanks
