shit son, i was not expecting anything like this in this thread. really dig the style and also the execution/production is super clean. actually super impressed.
Sounds chill- I think your voice could use a little more low end maybe... or something
sound design needs work on your tracks honestly
Adrian Rogers
yeah truu

Chill as fuck. Spoopy, too. Would make great backing for TV or film. Kind of reminiscent of Utopia's quieter moments (if you've not seen Utopia you're really missing out).
Nice stabs, what else are you going to do with it? It's ostensibly anime as fuck but it never seems to go anywhere.
Psychedelic. Like it, takes a while to get going, though. Chill and weird.
Love it, as usual. I've followed you for a while and I dig your trip-hop.
Your shit just doesn't want to load. Don't know why. Too lazy to find it manually.
Trippy and chill. Reminds me a bit of the 28 Days Later soundtrack. Slick production but your subs are way too loud. Tone them down and you have a winner.
I'm interested from the start. Volume went up. Felt like it was going somewhere. It didn't. Disappointed. It's like Cyriak but without any of the energy or life. Learn how to use multiple time signatures.
>Undertale remix >Rapping over it >Way too loud drum line >Bass is compressed to shit
You're not a bad rapper, I'll give you that. Your mix is way too loud and everything is clashing. The drums are WAY TOO LOUD. Learn what rests are and push gaps in the instrumental to let the undertale sample through, otherwise, don't bother using it. There's no negative space in this, and it shows.
The instrumental is really cool, in a Lemon Jelly sort of way. As the song progresses I find I like it more and more. There's a touch of musique concrete in there, lots of atmosphere... yeah. Love this. Followed.

i like your voice but you are grossly off tempo at points. I feel like if you did another song with tempo on your mind, youll make for a great rapper. voice is great, lyrics are great, flow is great. just tempo was an issue. great beat too, man! look forward to seeing what else you come out with.

vox on the first one reminded me a whole lot of porter robinson on one of his tracks, cant remember which one. i love the variety you bring to the table, even on just one track! you keep it really interesting. variety is a problem i have with my own tracks, so i enjoy hearing it on others. idk lol
soundcloud.com/contrapasso/regret >ambient, tape loop, drone early version of one of the loops I used on my most recent ep probably gonna work on another loop this evening to wind down
Jayden Butler
You don't know shit about Guitar recording. That's fine, everyone starts somewhere. Your lines are horribly out of sync. Play to a metronome and double, triple-record your lines, make sure it all fits together first before you upload. As it stands, a reasonably good track is bogged down in amateurism.
>It's like one of my japanese animes!
Your mix is way too loud, although it's very nicely put together. Bring it down and work on pushing the frequencies out through the mix, rather than increasing the volume. Good track, though.
it's like I've tuned into a bad radio DJ inbetween songs, only it's the whole track. It gets a little better mixing-wise but without adding anything interesting or original. Maybe I'm not the right person for this, but I just don't like it.
Nice mix, but your flow is totally beyond any human ken of tempo. Rap to a metronome. There's talent here if you learn what a song's rhythm feels like.
Vocals are WAY TOO LOUD. You could work on your timing, too. Instrumental sounds decent, that is, as much as I can hear beyond THE ALL CAPS VOCAL TRACK.
Mix this all down again, then repost. You'll have a good track then.

I won't be reviewing any more since doing so will basically be a neverending task at this point.
nonono your critisms are helpful pls tell me what i can do to be better lmao

I dug this actually it's like a more electronic, less eerie juvenile baroque slaughterhouse, which I'm a huge fan of
Dylan Jenkins
I missed you, fair enough. Nice distorted PWM, everything goes downhill from there. You're hugely overcompressing everything. Look up some better mixing techniques.
By the way, nice use of the FL Love Philter. By nice I mean don't use the stock settings. Seriously. It's like having your dick out in public. Everyone knows you have one, and that you use it, but putting it on display is embarassing.
Also, learn how to use Maximus. It's babby-tier mastering stuff but it WORKS and your songs will sound better for it. Learn how to use it and you'll find yourself making a quantum leap of quality.
Just flow to a metronome, dude. When you listen to the mix back you'll hear the difference and you'll feel like the fucking boss. Difference between the amateurs and the pros isn't the flow, it's the timing. Same rules as comedy, it's all in the delivery.
Mason Flores
>Learn how to use multiple time signatures What do you mean by that? Seems like a weird thing to say.
I know I've been highly critical of a lot of you guys, so I figure I'll post something of mine I think reflects an ideal of good composition.
the one I posted earlier is a more experimental track, and I figure if I'm going to wax lyrical about music production I might as well step up and show what I can do.
Joseph Long
You're playing in 2/4? Learn how to move to 4/4 in a bridge. Or even 4/5 for a connective element across one bar. Your song sticks to one tempo when it really should be shifting to double time in several sections.
Adam Richardson
This EP has been in the works since 2012 or so. Came a loooooooooong way from where I was then. Let me know what yall think! Also leave yalls melodic and grimey dubstep in reply so i can hear that shit man.
I'm using the same tools you are. Listen to the use of stereo separation, particularly (I assume you're using headphones). The Fruity Stereo Shaper is your best friend for bringing stuff to the fore when it needs it.
its a beat i made earlier today, so its really just a few bars of it. very incomplete project. but it is a very different style than what I uploaded today ("who the fuck are you"). what critisms would you have of this? i ask because the other one is supposed to sound stupid loud and insane but this one isn't supposed to sound like that at all. thoughts?

just realized i made the bass louder as a test but never made it quieter before i rendered it out. whoops.

I need your help. Yesterday there was this guy randomly promoting his soundcloud on Sup Forums There was this song I enjoyed called ri$e (or something like that) I was dumb enough not to save links. His soundcloud avatar was Hisoka (pic related) Does anyone happen to know who this user is? (Or are you here, ma nigga?)
Isaiah Robinson
Embed's not working. You got it on private?
You know my soundcloud account, message me.
Christopher Ortiz
Google image search it and see if you can find it.
Kayden Watson
I already tried that. It didn't work. Also, I'm sure it was Hisoka on his avatar, not sure if it was the same exact image though.
Bentley Reyes
How do you get embed sc links m8?
Hunter Myers
i think its a feature in your options on Sup Forums
Josiah Wright
You normally just post the link and Sup Forums takes care of the rest. Unless it's set to Private, in which case you need the private link (hit 'share' at the bottom of your private song).
Jose Thompson
loving those synths man, do you play anything or is it all sequenced? turn the snare up, reverb down. that snare isn't popping like it should. other than that, sick stuff. would be interested in linking up very into this. love the lo-fi sound. are you using a 404 or something? some more variety in the instruments would go along way. and the mixing is way too aggressive. i get that you're going for a hard sound but you're sacrificing quality for those monstrous kicks and snares really interesting, that's for sure. really interested in your workflow desu this is so weird, i've actually worked on stuff that sounded kinda like this soundcloud.com/ixli/floatingdownthetigris (old account)
There's some uncomfortable loud "noise" in the mid or so, coming from the pad. There's a slight lack of consistent tuning between the piano and synths, and the repetition of the piano loop combined with the fact that the piano is not a modulating instrument causes it to feel like it's just droning on. It's sitting in this uncomfortable middle space, mix-wise.
It's clean from the 2.5-minute mark onward or so (until the messier elements come back) although you try to introduce some kicks that are a hair too loud and boomy - would be okay in another piece, but feel out of place, here. Around 3:11, that sawtooth-esque synth is just way too grainy. Level it off a bit, push it back in the mix a little.
Not bad, but not something I'd go out of my way to listen to.
a track mix ive been working on. first time recording or mixing this genre. Critiques and hate are equally welcome.
>metal/metalcore/melodic or as I've been seeing it referred to lately >NWOAHM
James Mitchell
oh i kinda misunderstood your post then
Isaiah Wright
I record all of my live instrumentation and vocals in Audacity. Then do all my programming/mixing/mastering in FL studio. I do on occasion tab out all my midi drum patterns in Guitar Pro 5 and import it into FL Studio and use an FPC kit I have set for metal drums.
someone wrote something on this as I was swapping the uploads around and deleted the old one, pls post it again its not in my notifications anymore AHHHHHHHH
these ones are new, but pretty bad. with the exception of the beatbeat one. but that one is kind of unoriginal because i used some stock loops. all of the other ones are completely original though. soundcloud.com/goldenafro/sets/kiranbraps
also, because I am leaving for college tommorow, I half assed this excuse for a track. i think it sounds kinda pretty though. soundcloud.com/goldenafro/seeya
mono polly - stupid stuff EP >bedroom psychedelic pop >just made 2 of these today, mic is broken so i couldnt sing on them so i get heated and uploaded >cute psych pop stuff
i love to give feedback honestly either here or on sc so if you hit me, i'll hit u usually i'll try to anyways
i always like your style man, consistently impressive bumps.. fan of this
definitely impressive on some level but seems a little middle of the road to me, just like very 'basic' if you will.. produced quite well tho and her voice is fine.. i like the voice glitchy aspect towards the end quite a lot
love pianoman love donotmove love seeya.. followed mane you got a cool style, kinda reminds me of hymie's basement if you know that

Made a mixtape of aleatoric music. Had some close friends roll a couple of d20s, plotted the numbers to a scale, and wrote harmonies around the outcome. Is this shit /mu? Should I quit /mu?
soundcloud.com/shady-dave-2/vast Just looking for some feedback on this song I made recently. my content dosen't get very much attention and I'd like to continue as an artist, so getting some of your thoughts on this would be cool
