Dang Eric, somebody's prolific eh? Nice job though; this is indeed cozy, especially "Zizzy." And I think this minimalist style is working for ya. Keep it up man.

can't wait for the next album. wrote some words about your album Senioritis: misterpresidentmusic.tumblr.com
I'm liking the riff; it sounded so great at the beginning when it first burst in. But I gotta say, the song itself has that unfavorable tint of "generic indie," especially the vocals. I think I liked your old style a little bit better. The drums on this are great though.
I'm abandoning the minimal style soon. Motel songs is kind of my kiss goodbye to it. I'm not sure what my next album will be as i'm working on six or so but the one I'm closest to finishing is a Nautical themed noisy Dark Ambient album called "My Lady" (in reference to the Looking Glass song)
Thanks man. Don't know if you saw but I wrote you some words in the last bread:
Good on ya m8 for doing all these reviews of us amateurs. Someone's gotta parse through it all at the beginning stages, after all. I think my favorite song of yours is by far "The Buzzing," and overall your lyrics are nice the weirder they get. I mean, you have a song about taking a shit. And one with the words "Don't drink or you might grow more toesies." I like it. It never loses control and goes into full out meaningless territory, just carefully maintains that surreal vibe. Love all the weird little field recordings of parades and stuff too.
>working on six albums
Nice. Honestly, that's the kind of work ethic I'm starting to shift towards myself. I like working on multiple projects at once. Sometimes people like Robert Pollard or R. Stevie Moore get criticized for putting out so much stuff instead of parsing it down to a few choice cuts, but I myself have always thought that, for instance, the White Album is perfect in its messiness. Also
>Nautical themed
That's funny; I was thinking of doing something like that some time in the future myself. Hope you're not calling it "Maritime" because that's what I was thinking. A little bummed that you're ditching the minimal style though...
thanks man i really appreciate it especially coming from you. in regards to the features i'm writing, i've been on these threads for the greater part of three years, and they kept getting more and more stale to me.i just wanted to spice it up a little bit by writing these. it's a good way to support you guys, but also a way for me to log what i've already listened to as a way of keeping track. but yeah, thanks again!
I work by a very strict ethic of "low effort, many ideas". Every album I make has around the same amount of effort put into it as a single song made by a normal musician, therefore I end up creating large amounts of very consistent but different albums.
Hotel songs was the exception, I spent a lot of time on that one, which is why it completely shifts moods halfway through. If I spend too much time on an album is becomes less consistent.
Six albums is more of an estimate, there's definitely more than that but most of them are little ideas that I've only made one track of, but plan to get back to later.

you know "what is love" "get it on" "scream&shout"
recs are what killed them.
back when you people gave critiques, people had enough new material to merit new listens.
ever since fucking foillage and the lo-fi rec crew, people have been just sitting around hoping that the wall of recs may one day include them, learning nothing about themselves, and makin no progress in fully realized expression.

I wanna drive on the highway at night while listening to this. I'd say it's cozy as hell, but you already said that. Loving the minimalist vibe. Also, I checked out hotel songs. Not to bring vaporwave into this, but I feel like your music kind of satisfies the promise that vaporwave makes but never really manages to keep. It's electronic music that's trippy but also sentimental while being kind of detatched.
misterpresident.bandcamp.com
definitely hear the anco influence, but at the same time it's really well produced in its own right. Also hey, I followed your tumblr 'cause why not?
obligitory thanks for the shoutout. I've already listened to Senioritis a few times, and also played it in the car to some people. My friend who's into music was into it - probably moreso than I was actually!

Hey, everyone loves the (You)'s, but more than that, I actually appreciate browsing this thread. I post my stuff and then I check out other people's stuff - give it a listen and then rec what I like. Sometimes I discover music that I actually enjoy. Critiques are good and all that, but bottom line is that I'm just trying to find new music, and it's neat to feel more personally invested in the people who make it. One or two albums from these threads have entered into my regular listening (he doesn't post here anymore) and I think that's really neat.
This sounds really sincerely retro, right down to the vocal production with that short tailed but thick reverb. I also love the cover, tell Ellie that Eric Taxxon thinks she's a cool artist.

Description:
"Welcome to Hotel Songs. Please, enjoy your stay. I have been delivered to relay information and guidelines pertaining to your album listening experience. Hotel Songs is not to be listened to loudly, or on headphones. It is instead recommended that you find a small, clean, and well lit room in which to take residence, and a set of speakers through which to play your copy of Hotel Songs. Enjoy the album at low volumes, and let your mind wander. Are you ready? Well then, let us commence Hotel Songs.
I'll see you three nights from now."
- Eric Taxxon
As we stumble into the charade of luxury that often comes with a hotel, we often find ourselves resting well in an odd state of ambiguity and vagueness. In his second effort for Jacob And Friends, Eric Taxxon brings an album that displays that faux luxury that often we absolve ourselves into, all viewed through a lens of lush and repetitive minimal techno, intending on delivering a cozy experience to the listener.
Now available for stream and download!
Support, scrobble, or review on RYM. Any feedback of any kind would be greatly appreciated. And give Eric some love. Thank You. :)
Will still be accepting submissions for the label.

El Vacio Del Gaucho (2015) was composed over several months and, while recorded 'live' (simultaneously) it has overdubs and some studio trickery.
Our jam albums Zapadas vol 1 and 2 are selections of completely raw recordings and 100% improvised music made just for fun but are pretty nice albums in themselves. Then there's the debut self titled album from 2012.
