/daily/ - No Corn Edition

It's one day later than yesterday.

Listen to your library, support your local corn vendors, show off your backlog, babble about new music, be at peace with /rym/, try not to have another existential crisis, and just let the good times flow.

isn't it a bit paranoid that you have people located on RYM too.

NO ESCAPE FROM THE /DAILY/ BOIS

i just copied and pasted the thing from the RYM page for the tourney. i put them in on there in case they wanted to message on rym about strategy or w/e.
i just didn't feel like taking them off.

>go to farm to pick up corn
>corn in a huge pile and not bagged up
>go to door to ask what's up / can I buy corn
>nobody home
>walk around farm
>nobody home at the whole farm

What is today

i'm just kidding

; - ;

did you stole some corn?
who the fuck eats corn anyway, god damned muricans

i'm ANGRY

>did you stole some corn?
No I fucked off home and am taking the day off.
Stealing from farmers is about the lowest thing I can think of. (unless it's pumpkins out of the field for halloween, I've somehow rationalized that one to myself)

>I get up early in the morn
>I slap the pigs
>Momma shucks the corn
I get up early in the morn

Waddup socks

Also is RYM down for anyone else?

please don't slap pigs thank you

Not on desktop, maybe they're rolling out mobile updates?

>unless it's pumpkins out of the field for halloween, I've somehow rationalized that one to myself
kek
Could have picked the corn and pay it next time
not much bear
life slowly goes by and i havent studied for my exams next week and have no motivation to do anything
::::---))))) feeling good

Sonemic now???

As long as you still think pet sounds is the GOAT then I'm happy for you
But it would be cool to see you maybe set the week aside and listen to only classical/jazz so you could study more while listening to non-distracting music

>As long as you still think pet sounds is the GOAT
Yeah, man. I kinda grew out of it a little but I went to see Brian Wilson perform it live and it was coolio
>only classical/jazz
funny enough i'm listening to almost only jazz this few days

I find that I have to focus on those genres quite a lot and prefer to listen to ambient or sth

>NO ESCAPE FROM THE /DAILY/ BOIS
I have them here, rym, snapchat, even facebook in some cases
I am become /daily/, destroyer of taste

Yeah, my problem is that usually I focus too much on music to use it as a tool to aid studying. It doesn't help me at all, maybe when working or doing something but pure studying no way.
that's cool
i maybe would too if i had snap, facebook and that shit
but i don't
#feels

What's good?

nothing's good

weeb tho B-(

Also i'm going to a party but that's not good ( i don't think so)

I think this is as good as this reply chain's gonna get.

There's nothing wrong with being weeaboo filth.

There's everything wrong with it, trust me

You probably made a wrong quote there desu, also reserving a spot.

new to /daily/
what is this tourney you all speak of?

Fish's big tourney that you can join by reccing an album or whatever

and you all listen to them and decide which better?
is there a theme, or just throwing out good albums?

>and you all listen to them and decide which better?
Not really, only I'M FISH this time, but usually tourney are pretty common around here
>is there a theme, or just throwing out good albums?
I don't think that there is a theme this time, but sometimes the person that host the tourney may put restriction or something like that

Kengo Iuchi - 犬神と家畜

Autism.

Francis Bebey - Psychedelic Sanza

I wanna play. My rec is Republika - Nieustanne tango, if you already heard it or if I'm not around for round 2 listen to Mitch Hedberg - Mitch All Together

Have we ever done tourneys where we kinda pick a Miss Congeniality taste wise of /daily/? So what happens is that everyone participates, but everyone also picks which album goes forward through voting?

Obviously there should be a limit on it of some sort, too since I feel the easy way to win a tourney like that without limits would be "WL/WH, TBSATSL, Even Oxen, etc." which would make it easy for someone to pick albums that are often unanimously loved around here.

missed it. sorry.

/daily/ wake up
and maybe listen to the listenalong album

Listening to Sun Ra's Cosmic Tones for Mental Therapy which is great.
I don't know if this post will be deleted for having a movie related picture but I'm going through the RYM top 100 movies and I made a lil chart with them. The X's mean I've seen it a long time ago or I have to watch again before rating it

I'm gonna listen to this tomorrow.

Only one spot left!! There's technically 38 spots taken, but I'm going out of my way to reserve at least one spot for Dogwander since he won last time.

If you want in I would suggest reccing NOW.

Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers - Modern Lovers 'Live' (1978)
>pop rock

Fucking adorable. Jonathan Richman is the least pretentious and most genuine songwriter and performer on Earth and I love him to death. The songs get irritatingly twee and cloying at times (this album did invent twee pop, mind you), but Richman and his band's performances of these songs are so goddamned earnest that you can't help but love them. Bonus points for how punk it is too, the audience constantly cheers for "Roadrunner" but Richman plays his own little songs about airplanes and dinosaurs instead. Also impressive is how great this album sounds, it's obvious that it's a live performance with all the crowd banter, but during the songs themselves it's as pristine as a studio recording. Not that being pristine really helps these sparse, simple songs, but it's worth noting. Listen to this if you like pop music, basically.

3.0+

Gail Laughton - Harps of the Ancient Temples (1969)
>impressionism, ancient music, neoclassical new age

Totally, completely substanceless, with a shoddy concept to make it seem like it has any substantial worth. Harshness aside, it actually is really pretty, but the compositions are so completely insipid and basic, and emotionless to boot. Which is a shame, because the concept itself is really cool, but it's used as a crutch to excuse basic, boring compositional skills. The music of these ancient civilizations could've sounded extraordinary, this just sounds basic. Really pretty, but basic and bland.

2.0

personal listening, and while I like me some weird shit i'm personally not looking for really artsy and experimental stuff
