Mp3 player

i nee a new mp3 player. pic was reccomended to me but idk what does Sup Forums think? i dont want to spend like 150 on an ipod but i want something thats not going to break from a lot of use and something ith good sound quality. id like to spend 30-50 or less but im flexible

close to what Sup Forums would recommend. Sansa clip + custom OS for max control at min price.

sansa clip is a little expensive. its close to $90

I own a FiiO X1 with a 128 gb SD card, and I'm extremely pleased with it. It cost me about $150 total ($100 for the X1 and $50 for the SD card), but it was well worth it imo. And if you don't need that much space you can buy cheaper SD cards. A little over the given price range, but still pretty cheap for the quality, and I'd definitely recommend saving up for it if you can

Really? I bought mine used on eBay for 30

How's the sound quality? Better than cell phone output?

For fucking sure, plus it can play lots of lossles file formats, like FLAC, and it has the line out option for when you plug it into a speaker or your car so it sounds great, along with the regular headphones option for casual listening

Thanks homie

No problem, my dude, I hope you can get yourself a good player

this is not op btw

this is looking pretty good just not sure i f i can spare the cash. i alredy have an ipod shuffle but its only 2gb and no screen so its hard to find what i want to listen to and it holds like nothing. i also have 2 ipod touches but both headphone jacks are broken and my phone has a shitty jack

I got mine for like $50 with a 64 gig and card. Personally don't like using rockbox on it though

So would FiiO > Sansa > Walkman be the acccurate ranking?

Why isn't anything over eight gigs sold in-stores and has to be ordered online? Aren't we in the twenty-first century?

what did they mean by this

>entire music library
>128gb

seems like a good buy anyway

Went through three generations of the clip, and in general it's a go to for me if I can't find anything else suitable.
Originally got the Clip, which lasted about 3 years. Eventually the power slider stopped working.
Got the Clip+ after, which lasted less than 2 years. Can't remember exactly, but it crapped out sooner because the home button stopped working.
On pic related right now (Clip Zip), and its over 2 years. Right side of the power button stopped being responsive, so I'll need to replace it soon.

Never had an issue with the sound or display though, so it was mostly the buttons in my case. Otherwise, I'd say they did the job for something around $50. I only use these in the gym btw, so they go through some regular wear. Might consider the FiiO to replace my zip

Do any models of the Fiio have an interchangeable SD card? or is it all of them

Not anymore. After they discontinued it, it's been hard to find at a decent price. Mine recently bricked on me (fuck you rockbox for working great for a year then randomly killing my favorite dap) and I'm not about to go out and buy another at the new going price.

To OP, I recommend FiiO M3. It has the fidelity of higher end models like the X1, but far less build quality and a much worse user interface. You get what you pay for, and imo the M3 is the best you can do for 50 or less.

That said you'll technically break your budget since a good sd card will run you about 15 bucks. That said, factoring in sd card price will force you to buy some hot shit because there is literally no good dap at 35 dollars. Just Sansa products which have gone to complete shit after they discontinued the Clip+, and shitty Apple knockoffs made in China.

Fiio M3 + 64gb Sony microsd card = 66 bux

Not a bad deal at all

I have an X1 too and I would seriously recommend it though I don't have much of a frame of reference as to whether or not it's better than other players out there. Consensus vaguely seems that it's up there though.
