^This is the most popular answers to this question but it depends to opinion and relativity to there songs to make the rapper the best in history

Guru*

Throw KRS, Guru, Q-Tip, Phife, and Rakim in there and you got yourself a list.

my list goes reggie, jay z, tupac, and biggie. andre from outkast, jada, kurupt, nas, and then me

Nas is the most overrated rapper, he has one good album with 10 songs on it, that's all he's done in 20 years.

>one good album
how can somebody be this autistic?

stillmatic is his only other decent album. Not to mention he didn't even produce/write half the shit on illmatic.

Yes he did write all of illmatic, and traditionally the MC did not produce. Thats how it always was, most hip-hop albums don't have the MC producing...

Illmatic was one of the first albums to have all these amazing producers and not just one. So for you to argue illmatic loses credibility because Nas didnt produce is fucking retarded.

It does when every other album that's considered good had the artist producing beats, that's 90% of what makes an album, rapping is the easy part

...

you don't know shit about hip hop
3 arguments in your post and all 3 are wrong

...at least the best backpack rapper in history

>every other album thats considered good had the artist producing beats

Looks like:
>Paid In Full
>The Low End Theory
>36 Chambers
>Midnight Marauders
>The Sun Rises In The East
>Step In The Arena
>Madvillainy (Doom probably helped though)
>Moment of Truth
>Hard to Earn
>Doggystyle
>Me Against The World
>Wrath of the math
>All Eyez On Me
>List literally goes on and on and on....
are all not good albums. Thanks user you really must know your stuff.

Oh my bad q tip did some of the production on the tribe albums, but still your argument is fucking retarded.

>sees thread on best rappers
>a bunch of legendary rappers posted
>proceeds to post literal trash
Great taste user.

I mean half those albums had the artist producing beats if you were smart enough to look it up. Nas had all the beats already perfected and laid out for him, the fact he hasn't produced a decent beat since then shows how shitty he really is. He has good wordplay and flow but has terrible story telling and is a one trick pony.

...

>terrible story telling
>what is One Love
>what is I gave you power
>what is black girl lost
>what is ny state of mind
user, please stop.

good argument

ny state of mind is the only one on illmatic. The story of the song is "I had dreams I was a gangsta" and nothing else.

My top 3 are Mf Doom, Kool Keith, and Krs-One

Are you retarded One Love is on Illmatic

You don't really have to ask him that, its pretty clear at this point.

Yeah I'm the retard after you linked 20 albums that were all produced by the artist, try harder

Rakim
Big Daddy Kane
Kool G Rap
Obligatory Pac & Biggie
Big Pun
Black Thought
Outkast

That's off the top of my head

I'm not even the same guy you fucking idiot it's common knowledge One Love is on Illmatic

I don't care you still failed to prove nas is a decent rapper let alone good

stormzy

lol you're just wrong, almost none of those were produced by the MC.

Paid in Full is by Eric B. but it was allegedly produced by a lot of uncredited people too.

He admitted Low End theory was mostly produced by Q-Tip

36 Chambers is produced by RZA who has a small amount of features on the album

The Sun Rises in the East is entirely produced by DJ Premier, not Jeru

Step in the Arena is entirely produced by DJ Premier, not Guru the MC

Madvillainy is entirely produced by Madlib. DOOM might have helped find a few samples but it was all put together by Madlib officially

Moment of Truth and Hard to Earn were entirely produced by DJ Premier, not Guru the MC

Doggystyle was entirely produced by Dre and associates, not at all by Snoop

Me Against the World was produced by a variety of people, none of whom were 2Pac

Wrath of the Math was entirely produced by DJ Premier, not Jeru

All Eyez on Me was all various producers, no 2Pac production

You're a retard

Anyone who didn't say pic related is dead wrong. Plain and simple.

I'm gonna be honest here guys, I gotta pretty shit taste in rappers, only rappers I recognized here was MF doom, I listen to like yung lean, death grips, drake, asap rocky, all that gay shit. Rest in Spaghetti shit taste...

It's not like those guys are terrible. You just need to listen to some essentials.

Just listen to:

>UGK - Ridin' Dirty
>Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
>Snoop Dogg - Doggystyle
>Three 6 Mafia - Mystic Stylez

If you listen to these three you'll get a taste of the main 90s styles of rap (southern, east coast, west coast, memphis respectively). You really out to though, it will only help you appreciate the genre more.

Kool G Rap
Too bad he wastes all of his talent on shitty hardcore rap
Also Kool Keith

Ice Cube, Big Boi, Big L, DOOM and Scarface need to be included in there.

...

>My homie Sig' was on a tier where no tears should fall
>‘Cause he was on the block where no squares get off
>See, in my inner circle, all we do is ball
>'Til we all got triangles on our wall

Can't tell me Jay Z is shit with bars like this

Del is from the west

...

Rakim
Kool Keith
MF DOOM
Masta Ace
Canibus
KRS-One
Andre 3000
Pharoahe Monch
Esoteric
Celph Titled
Denizen Kane
Mike Shinoda
