ITT: people who ruined bands

...

...

I'll take things utter plebeian idiots say for 1000, Alex.

Brian Eno with every band he got involved with

Objectively false

That's not Tony Banks.

His keyboard playing is good but I can't stand it when he does harmonies

Gabriel:
>whimsical stories of post-apocalyptic sci-fi fantasy
>superb costumes
>creative usage of the Mellotron
>twenty-three-minute-long retellings of Biblical legends

Collins:
>boring stories of wanting to fuck a prostitute that looks like your mom
>normie suits
>bland usage of regular pleb instruments
>four-minute love songs

You first, OP.

collins is not a fucking bogeyman dude if you have to blame someone blame banks

phil wanted them to continue instrumentally when pete left, and he always tried to convince banks and rutherford to play prog tracks on tour only to be shot down

also he doesn't talk shit about their prog material like banks/rutherford/gabriel

>creative usage of Mellotron

All of those mellotron-heavy tracks were written by Tony Banks, not Gabriel. And a lot of the early Phil Collins era songs had just as good mellotron work.

Tom "The Beaner" Araya

>made U2 interesting
>Remain in Light
>Bowie's Berlin albums
Um ok sure

You left out Roxy Music

How can Phil Collins have ruined Genesis when his drumming is literally the best part of their best album?

Also A Trick of the Tail, Wind & Wuthering and Duke are GOAT records, the rest of Genesis' 80s and early 90s stuff isn't as good, but it could have been worse. Had Genesis kept on playing prog after Duke, they'd probably descend into self-parody like Pink Floyd did after Animals.

But he was in Roxy Music when they did 2 of their best albums, and produced Remain In Light and Fear of Music, how is that ruining a band? If anything, I will say that him leaving Roxy Music was what ruined that band

But his drumming isn't the best part of The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway tho

without phil radiohead would be shit

>SEBTP
>their best album

...

Trick of the Tail and Winds and Wuthering are amazing and Gabriel isn't on them.

Trick of the Tail, tho.

Wind and Wuthering is secretly the best Genesis album

I like you
