user, you're supposed to change those at the very least once every two months.

I say 3 or 4 months.

I played on some 1 year old strings on a friend's guitar and they sounded like pure shit.

How am I supposed to play this? It seems to be a bit of a stretch to grab that note on the B string.

play it at the 8th fret first string instead. with the major third in standard tuning it goes from x3x353 to 8x898x starting from the low E string.

this is just a standard C7 chord, they just removed the 5th interval on the D string for some dumb reason

just barre it at the 3rd fret (if you play it on the first fret it will be Bb7, not C7) and use your pinky for the B string.

I already play that one. I wanted to be able to play the A string root version so I can grab a nice sounding 7 chord no matter where I am on the neck. I guess I'll start learning the shape up by the 12th fret where the frets are closer and gradually bring it down until I'm able to comfortably do the stretch.

That diagram shows an inexplicably dumb and unconventional way to play 7th chords of the A string.

It's not dumb. It sounds jazzier and cleaner to me without the low 5th in it. All those notes so close together just sounds a bit muddy. Plus the 5th doesn't really offer any real value in presenting the character of the chord.

if you want a jazzy 7th chord use a drop 2 with the root on the 5th string. there's nothing jazzy or special about that standard chord that everyone uses

How's the Fender Frontman 212r? I was thinking of buying the MG30cfx but since so many people shit on it(I seriously believe people think about the d series when talking about the cf series but whatever) I'm seriously thinking about the saving up for a 212r or a mustang II since they're the same price.

both the frontman and MG are practice amp. If you add more power to them, they're just oversized practice amps.

How does one buy an electric guitar and amp? What should I look for? I'm looking to eventually be able to emulate the sound of jam bands, specifically Grateful Dead. $300 to $500 is my price range. Maybe a bit more if I have to.
