wtf i hate hip hop now

Vaporwave because it's better and my opinion IS FACT AND IF YOU DISAGREE WITH ME YOURE A BIGOT

potato chips

beer

memerap

hip hop isn't about making a statement or defending peoples anymore, it's about being privileged and ignoring the ghettos from where it came. in this case stupid ironic memerap is preferable to modern hip hops.

im putting my money on an r&b revival and maybe some more hipster "folk" music

you are a moron

Nothing
Hip-hop is and always will be the future
Why the fuck would the corporations who control the music industry rock the boat, hip hop makes lots of money
>black people so it's PC
>thug glorification is fun for white kids, even if it is a modern-day minstrel show nobody cares and the blacks haven't figured out that they're being fucked over by corporations with commercial thug rap
>parents still hate it
>lyrics >>>>> music for 99% of pop listeners and hip-hop is all lyrics

It's 2016, old man.

agree with most of this but the lyrics thing. catchy melodies are way more important.

catchy rhythms in trap are easier for the general public to latch onto, much simpler than guitar-based pop melodies

true. i like trap music but it's literally the easiest form of popular music to produce and it's accessible to everyone. hence why there are so many 'soundcloud producers' and why it has been the biggest trend in hip-hop for almost 5-6 years.

all pop music will soon be abandoned, and we will return to classical

Trancecore.

i don't see any intelligent undercurrent in the population slowly making it's way upward

popular culture and music are getting progressively shittier and more degenerate. there are literal 'slut walks' now and shaking your ass like a monkey in heat is mainstream culture now (aka twerking)... i don't really see it.

boohoo women are having fun thats degenerate fucking women are the reason im a virgin!!

that's exactly why it will return. to quote the great poet Bill O'Reilly, 'tide goes in, tide goes out'.

most rappers are completely independent now and dont use labels

Not that user, but no, degenerate women are not why I still haven't lost my virginity, but they are the reason I have no interest in losing it.

degeneracy isn't good for men or women. one thing is having 'fun' and experimenting in your 20's. another is aborting your 4th child by the time you are 34. and society encourages all of this.

children are the key to happiness, to men and women alike.

also stop projecting. i have a gf. it's just the way things are, i don't want my future daughter to grow up in this culture.

I THINK IT'S A VERY VERY SAD DAY
WHEN THE ONLY WAY WOMEN KNOW HOW TO EXPRESS THEMSELVES IS THROUGH TWERKING!

in every instance of that in history, there's been some indication within the culture that would signify the shift

like, there's no small group of youth interested in making and appreciating it that aren't confused, pretentious art students

that i'm aware of at least, i'd be happy to be surprised but do you have any supporting evidence?

Modern mainstream music ( hiphop too) is actually bad for our appreciation of music. I read this article ( It's from a belgian newspaper so you might not be able to read it.) standaard.be/cnt/dmf20160824_02438189. Basically what this article says is that because the notes in EDM are sustained at the same volume for a period of time, it doesn't feel natural and our brains are actually becoming desensitized to the sound. We aren't getting relaxed, it's stressfull. You can draw a parrallell to the loudness war (mixing of instruments continually getting louder, less empty space, this has been going on since the nineties), and pop music getting simpler over the years. Of course this isn't true for all music, there will allways be more studied and experimental music made by people that really love music. This only applies to the music that is in the mainstream, and what the big thing (arguably hip-hop right now) at the time is.
I don't think there will be a return to classical, for the reasons given above. That is a silly idea. I think that after hip-hop reaches its peak, more innofensive and happy music will come back. Kind of like synthpop as a reaction to punk.
>inb4 wronggeneration, if you wanted to say that you can't see the point of my post

the beginning my post is a bit unfocussed, the main point of the first paragraph is that pop is getting simpler and more loud to get an emotional response.

i like the punk and synth-pop comparision, makes sense.

seems like hip-hop is here to stay

the more technology envolves more hiphop benefits of it

new wave: Weirdsonics:

1) post-vaporwave
2) post-hupnagocic pop
3) arcawave / oneohtrix pop / tinymixwaves

>the more technology envolves more hiphop benefits of it
why though? I would argue hip-hop is here more becuase of the culture at the moment than the technology, it might as well get replaced by something different using the same techniques;

industrial jazz

Although I am OFWGKTA for life I fucks with XAVIER WULF and $UICIDEBOYZ

They have that old fuck everything feel that Odd Future used to have, and I fucking love that. I love WULF'S cool school shooter 90s aesthetic music videos, and Suicide Boys trap influenced horror core songs are fucking AMAZING
But remember OFWGKTA for life. Kill People, Burn Shit, Fuck School.

Its golf nigga

You did not even answer the question...
You suck at this.

no

hip hop have double appeal basically 70% of the billboard top 100 its hip hop or its direct influenced by hip hop

the other side are producers and artists that are pushing boundaries, basically all of them touched an hip hop part

-flylo
-death grips
-aphex
-arca
-el-p
-opn
-kanye
-j dilla

et. al

hip hop are the sources of some of the AOTYs of the last 20/30 years
....

it birthed / influenced a zillion of genres (nu metal, grime, glitch hop et. al) and tends to only grow

i love the phrase "hip hop saved my life"

>implying classical is intelligent
Literally pretentious pop for rich people in the 1700s
The rich people weren't very smart but they liked to think themselves cultured and intellectual

I'm not arguing that it is a small/unifluential or bad genre, the next big genre (that isn't hiphop) will without a doubt be influenced by it, but what I am saying is that the music being made thanks to the improvement of technology implies it is hip-hop. A new genre would not be like hip-hop, yet it might use the same technology that birthed it, while being influenced by it.

you're right. death grips is smart af though. the nectar of intellectuals, if i may.

Literally every argument that hip hop is bad is the same as the arguments old people had in the 50s saying that rock and roll is bad

they were right

not many people are debating if hip-hop is bad,
The question is what comes after hip-hop. even the degeracy shitposters aren't actually talking about the qualities of the music.

You see what you want see.

Thugger and lyrical surealism

retard

this.

HAHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH

hip-hop is dead. music in general is dead.
pic related.
