The idea of someone driven to crippling, neurotic fear of any sort of social interaction (often due to very severe bullying, too, unless I'm mistaken?), hiding in terror from the world, just stuck in their house like a living ghost, clinging to waifus and virtual girlfriends to try to ward off the bleak, crushing loneliness of their existence. And then you have people, the makers of the aforementioned virtual girlfriend stuff, basically making a profit by enabling these poor pitiable lost souls, in a way preventing them from seeking the help they so desperately need.
Thinking about it, about the whole thing, about the types of people that sort of thing is targeted to. Thinking about how most of those people will probably never get help, and will probably die like that - alone, unloved, forgotten, having already, in a way, died a long time ago. It's just so sad.

Wow, I just googled that. That is weird. But their argument doesn't seem to be about robot consent.
From the article I read, it seems like they're concerned that sex bots being a thing would encourage a dehumanizing view of women and female bodies. Which just seems silly since everything about it that concerns them could just easily be completely avoided by also making male sex bots. That is such a weird thing for them to be concerned about.
That said, I really don't think feminism is the reason that virtual girlfriend things aren't popular in the West. There are also tons of anime virtual boyfriend visual novels aimed at girls, and those are also an obscure, awkward, somewhat frowned-upon niche, considered silly and childish at best. Honestly, the whole idea of virtual relationship/social life simulators just seems... morbid, I guess.
