Have you ever literally turned off an album because it was too good
Have you ever literally turned off an album because it was too good
you should literally delete this thread
What
I feel you. By the middle of Dedicated I'm just like holy shit I need a breather.
Literally no
delet ur life
OH GOD I REMEMBER
I LISTENED THIS ALBUM ONCE
AND NEVER AGAIN
It's so good I don't want to ruin the feeling.
If I wasn't in the right mood for it yeah. I don't have any specific examples. An apathetic state of mind is really not a good context for great music.
i'm not sure if anyone else doest this but one of the best/worst feelings for me is not wanting to listen to an album that you like because you want the album to keep all the memories of what life was like when you first listened to it. I guess a lot of times i try to let music age like wine sort of so when i listen to a song or album again i get hit with a tsunami of nostalgia. the feeling is pretty worth it imo
how do you guys listen to music? do you just zone out?
Usually just dick around on the internet or jack off. Most music isn't good enough to get immersed in.
>not listening to new albums while walking
i seriously hope you guys don't do this
I only zone out and listen to albums if I already know and love them or are on drugs. Otherwise I listen to music while doing an activity that keeps my body occupied while still allowing me to listen with semi-full attention, like walking, folding laundry, or driving.
this
i always try to find new things i can do at my computer desk to keep me busy that dont require my full attention. for example one day i might just mess around with a rubix cube while i listen to something. besides that used to always surf on cs:go while i listen to albums i dont know why i stopped.
>not avoiding activity in order to fully immerse yourself in active listening
plebs
you're probably okay
i mean if its something i really like ill just sit back and close my eyes (which is risky because i could fall asleep) other than that i take breaks to devote my full attention.
Yeah, I kinda do that
The first time I listened to this, I was blown away by the first couple tracks and had to leave it alone so I could revisit it when I was mentally prepared to digest it in one sitting.
why would I do that?
radiohead. kid a. once/twice a year and just cry my eyes out
I get the most out of music while driving. It prevents me from getting distracted.
Focus on what you're listening to as intently as possible.
this. you don't waste the end of a piece of the sky half listening, daydreaming on the bus. it just cheapens it in your mind. also there is something uncanny about listening to your favorite music and having it not affect you. like i don't want to listen to kid a and just be sort of feeling it because i happen to be feeling pretty good about the possibility of meaningful human connection that day. i'd rather just play young thug and jump around and stuff
I do this but not with this piece of shit album
enjoy yourself
ha, should have read that ^
before i posted this is literally what i do
got 2 minutes into this and had to turn it off as it was so terrible
walking is god-tier
alone in dark too
this album is actually fucking trash lol
>he can't into glitch
do you jack off listening to music? that's weird, i feel like if i do that i'm just disrespecting the music or some shit. it's a weird feeling.
honestly if you dislike this album there's something wrong with you
I can see why you'd do this, but give it a full listen. You'd be surprised at the directions it takes, even within the first handful of tracks.
it's fucking boring and too much going on the album with the razor is way better
>which is ricky because i could fall asleep
baka senpai
When i was 15 i watched A Space Odyssey by Stanley Kubrick , it's my favourite movie of all time and i only watched it once because i'm way too scared i will be dissapointed if i watch it again
ITT: I only listened to the first song of this album therefore I know it's bad :^)
I do the same thing with videogames
Listened to this album once an although i liked , i wasn't blown away , should i try it on dude weed?
ITAOTS
dark side of the moon is like this for me
I imagine it's due to how much electronic music I listen to, I was not ready for how organic sounding dark side was
also I was pretty fucking high
I have a few albums that I keep on the shelf for when I need an emotional release. tonight is one of those times.
Just finished listening to it for the first time but Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness will definitely be one of these albums.
Why does everyone shill this album so hard? It's poorly put together, the IDM parts are meandering, and the best moments are just well done shoegaze tracks. Why?
it's disrespectful not to jack off to an album, do you even stain mountain tops?
Yes. I listened to the first 3 or 4 tracks of The Queen is Dead before I realized that it might be one of the best albums I had ever heard, and I should probably save it for when I needed it. This was 3 years ago. I still can't bring myself to listen to it much because I don't want it to get stale. I like The Smiths other work for the most part, but not nearly as much.
It sounds like a computer trying to create paradise
