Its a jarring experience to pick up a guitar and have it feel so foreign, because it was the instrument I first started with 10 years ago. And all that muscle memory was still there just lying dormant for an extended time. Its like reconnecting with a part of your brain you lost contact with. It's fucking weird, even though intellectually I know a guitar feels different from the instruments I've been getting used to, that doesn't make it any less strange to actually hold it and play it. Yeah probably. I mean the original reason I moved from guitar from mandolin was because I was frustrated with the guitar scale length and I wanted to be able to span a perfect fifth between index finger and pinkie. But then a year later I picked up the bass and found I liked it a lot even though the scale length is even longer. So none of my shit makes sense obviously.
