Good analogy. Have a (You)

Let's get this Zimmer thread going

youtube.com/watch?v=IuvHzlzqgGI

Let's not.

I have a theory that people who listen to Bach are fat nerds. I have yet to meet someone who listens to Bach though, so I can't know for sure.

stop shitposting, Mozart.

post better film composer than this rat

fat nerds listen to stuff liek this

Zbigniew Preisner

...

Williams. I'm talking j of course. I'm Jo of course. I'm talking Joh of course. I'm talking John of course. Williams that is if- you catch my drift.

Nino Rota

Hermann. I'm talking B of course. I'm talking Be of course. I'm talking Ber of course. I'm talking Bern of course. I'm talking Berni of course. I'm talking Bernie of course. Sanders that is- if you catch my drift

there's literally nothing wrong with John Williams

The anger has now subsided and all that's left is limp exasperation
youtube.com/watch?v=jQ2qotTQl4Y

>Giovanni "Nino" Rota[1] (3 December 1911 – 10 April 1979) was an Italian composer, pianist, conductor and academic who is best known for his film scores, notably for the films of Federico Fellini and Luchino Visconti. He also composed the music for two of Franco Zeffirelli's Shakespeare films, and for the first two films of Francis Ford Coppola's Godfather trilogy, receiving the Academy Award for Best Original Score for The Godfather Part II (1974).

Arnold Schoenberg walks into a bar and says to the bartender

"I'll have a gin please but no tonic"

>I'll have a gin
>a gin
F/10

Would you like me to tell you how I know you have no friends?

/classical/ is a bully-free zone

Why couldn't the string quartet find their composer?

He was Haydn

...

Why didn't Handel go shopping?

Because he was baroque!

What was Chopin doing in the woods?

He was Chopin some wood!

Should I try to get into classical music if I listen mostly to progressive rock and don't play an instrument? Does not playing an instrument limit my experience compared to someone who does?

Middle C, E flat, and G walk into a bar.

"Sorry" the bartender said. "We don't serve minors"

is this a joke, because no it doesnt
however, if you actually do get into it, refrain from feeling cool and making knowledgeable comments, because its either very funny or very annoying to people who actually do play an instrument

Lmao
>because no it doesnt
Yes it does for some composers.

How many people would never have listened to great classical composers if they werent exposed to Hans Zimmer first? Film music have given classical a whole new audience that are thirsty for more. It used to be a dying art that only pensionists and rich parents dragged their 6 year olds to watch in hopes that the kid would take their piano lessons seriously.

Or do you want to push classical back into the niché audience box again?

I think you are overestimating how many people this rats music has 'introduced' to classical. hes introduced them to other perhaps superior film composers but I doubt as many people follow Han's music back to its influences

>How many people would never have listened to great classical composers if they werent exposed to Hans Zimmer first?
Literally everyone

Can someone make an essential /classical/ chart with Zimmer on it?

reminder that Opera was attended by people of all classes and this "classical is for the socio-economic elite" meme was created by marketing in the later half of the 20th century. good job falling for the bait, you useless sheep.

Doesn't matter what he use Horowitz can only make Listz sound decent. The rest of his "performances" are one huge wank off. It's like Yngwie Malsteem trying to play Paganini on piano

What do you get when you drop a piano down a mineshaft?

Ab Minor

I don't get this one.

a flat miner

but that says ab minor not A minor

...

ab minor is pronounces: a flat minor
a flat miner is pronounced the same way

dropping a piano down a mine shaft makes the miner flat
