I rarely see IDM on Sup Forums, does anyone else listen to it?
I just got into Lunatic Harness, found it pretty great.
Love some Osamu Sato too, as well as the Artificial Intelligence Albums.

What, Sup Forums loves the eyedeems
There seems to be a lack of IDM threads thanks to /bleep/ shitposting and elitism.
Anyway, I like the early/mid 90s sound of it. Ae, Aphex, Ulrich Schnauss, BoC, etc. I enjoy a lot more the digital, glitch-esque melodic sound of the early 00s.

>I enjoy a lot more the digital, glitch-esque melodic sound
Yeah, that's what I enjoy about it a lot. Especially when you get that sort of organic sounding glitch/techno feel to it.
What's that record called? I'll give it a listen.
Is there another name for it? Because yeah, IDM is a pretty wanky name.
does mu like this

I like you

Pretty neat user. Good balance of coherent and chaotic.
yo does this count as IDM?
soundcloud.com
i love IDM, but i've never really been sure about the definition of the genre itself because it can be so broad
anyway, I am prettttty sure most of my shit could be considered IDM. enjoy
>What's that record called? I'll give it a listen.
it's just called brace yourself
yo this is fucking nice
>I rarely see IDM on Sup Forums, does anyone else listen to it?
how new r u faggot
thanks guys. you probably know more about idm than i do though. any idea of some medium-small labels i should send this to?
there's 2 companion EP's
i dunno man fuck labels
>fuck labels
this is what's wrong with you fucking IDM losers

OH Yeah Love it. This is my stuff right here. Though I prefer Royal Astronomy from µ-ziq.
Here's Carpet Muncher from that album: youtube.com

who hurt you?
I don't really know about labels, the only ones I can think of that are related are Warp Records and Darla Records, I guess.
Funny thing is a lot of the original 90s IDM artists themselves detest that name. I believe people were trying to call the genre breakcore at some point but IDM has stuck stronger so I don't see a reason to fight it. It's just a genre name who cares.
Just a couple IDM tracks i've dabbled with
>soundcloud.com
>www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyL-yDfmBzQ
Personally love venetian snares, Aphex and sqaurepusher
Breakcore is a specific genre with it's own defining characteristics though. Many of the artists considered "IDM" don't even make it.
Breakcore IS IDM for most (retarded) people though. It's the reason there were so many terrible breakcore IDM "musicians" back in 2005 to the early 2010's.
Thanks for these links user. That track by Secede reminds me a lot of múm, or at least their earlier stuff; I haven't really listened to anything other than their first two albums.
lol i don't think anyone despises the term "idm" as much as autechre do
>Breakcore IS IDM for most (retarded) people though
I think the real retards are the people who give a shit about either genre enough to the difference. You aspie fuck.
>difference
The difference is that IDM is good while breakcore is fedoracore shit.
I feel like "IDM" is sort of just a general term for electronic music that's a bit more alternative. Any good IDM tracks will incorporate other genres, or could at least be pegged as something else.
IDM isn't a genre, it's an umbrella term. Breakcore is a genre under that umbrella.
Anyone here listen to Sweet Trip? Some of their later stuff is a lot less IDM related, but their earlier stuff is pretty IDM style.

As well as a few tracks off Velocity:Design:Comfort
...
Some insanely good squarepusher tunes

These are really good, thanks for sharing.
Hey user this is really cool, where can I find your stuff?
>I rarely see IDM on Sup Forums, does anyone else listen to it?
for real? I feel like I see it all the time here. It's usually below the KPOP general, sandwiched somewhere between Grimes worship and the Lauren from chvrches jack-off pic threads. Props on mentioning µ-Ziq.
so fucking happy he decided to share this previously unreleased song with us:

If you like Mr. Paradinas' work I highly suggest you check out pilotredsun. One of the best electronic albums of the year imo and one of the best sounding dudes in the class of 2016.
>clyp.it
Damn dude, this is actually some really good checkcore
keep it up
fugg i forgot about this thread

Nice music user.
I feel like I've heard 140 Public Sq. before though. I wonder where though?
IDM is a fucking stupid genre name and too general
>Alternative Electronic
>AE
>Mfw I have no face
love this u-Ziq track
Alt Gr+U makes µ
I like 1 Hip 007
i posted it in /prod/ once
is IDM more than just "dude ambient synths over cut up breakbeats lmao" or does that more or less sum up the entire genre?
Now that autechre have released elseq, I find every other """idm""" sounds pretty boring
overrated release imo. good, but not great by any means. has a few great tracks though.
not him but i think it's pretty great. tasty fizzy textures. ae_live is much better though.
Nah, I mean it sounds like something I've heard before. I think it's the trickling water sound. Where's that from? It's nice.
to add to , i just like to find random youtube videos and sell them. love these generic jingles and making something cool out of them.
Holy shit, that's actually where I remember it from. Not the exact building, but it was a similar video for another place.
It's got a good feel to it. Nice job bringing new life to it.
Brace Yourself (Remix) on the Brace Yourself EP is fucking brilliant.
I diagree..Its one of the best record Autechre has ever put out
Not sue if anyone's interested but Flashbulb/Benn Jordan/Flexe, etc is releasing essentially his entire discog for $1-$10 roughly 600 tracks in 320 or flac.
Early stuff is reminiscent of Aphex and Squarepusher. Also dabbled in Acid with Flexe and Human Action Network aliases

Since, it's fairly established that EDM sounds like bleep & bloops
what sounds like IDM?
bloops & bleeps
Holy shit I'm already following you! Small world :^)

Why should i care about techno?
