Ride>Justice>Puppets>>Black>Magnetic>Kill>>Load>Reload>St. Anger

Also Garage Inc. and S&M are fantastic

>DM over KEA

80s stuff is still legendary to my ears. It sucks that there is an irrational stigma against liking anything after RTL now
holy fuk

a once great band that has should have packed it in a long time ago

Everything they touched in the 80s is gold. Black album era is okay.

And then they fucking died

The lyrics are shite and a lot of the riffs feel unfinished. Plus DMs got Suicide and Redemption and End of the Line.

Is Metallica the Simpsons of music?

how the fuck is Whiplash is unfinished

the whole song is just a palm muted e string. i know it's thrash metal, but come on. I still like it though.

There OK but the only album I don't like from them is St anger

Hmmmm, Id say so

kill em all > ajfa> master of puppets
then stop

isnt that the song that's just two blatantly unfinished songs thrown together?

everything before black album is great

youtube.com/watch?v=lCsH1g5ZESk

this is my favorite song of theirs

It's sad, they could have been so much better if they just had a sense of humor.

What do you think about their new song? Lyrics are terrible but it definitely has the energy of their older stuff.

Agreed. I have feeling that that will describe the whole album. James ran out of things to say and he's a generally happy guy. He doesn't have that angst that helped him make Justice anymore.

I don't know why he still continues to make this kind of music. I'd love to hear what he can compose with strings, a simple acoustic song, etc.

youtube.com/watch?v=IfalN7ZWLek
Audio quality is shit but it's a decent performance. He also has some basically acoustic songs on Load/Reload. Low Man's Lyric is worth checking out.

Ride the lightning>Kill em all>Master of Puppets>>>Justice>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Black>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>The rest(irrelevant garbage)

Kill Em All >> Ride The Lightning > Master of Puppets >>> And Justice For All >>>> Black > Death Magnetic >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Lulu >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Dont bother with anything else

I unironically like Load and ReLoad. It pretty much like all of their albums bar St. Anger.

SKULLS RULE

the profanity honestly just come off as trying to be edgy, the rest is pretty good

Megadeth > Metallica

You know its true

Kill Em All, Ride The Lighting, and Master Of Puppets are essential 80's metal. And Justice For All is good, but the lack of Cliff Burton is noticeable. Black Album is hit and miss. Load and ReLoad are mediocre. St Anger is garbage. Death Magnetic was okay, but kinda boring.

Lulu is GOAT
anyone who says otherwise is lying bro

>Black>Magnetic>Kill

kek absolutely not, but don't worry i'll fix that for you

Ride>Justice>Puppets>Kill>Black and that's all

Slayer is better

80's stuff is kinda even. I definitely prefer Countdown to Extinction and Youthanasia over Black Album, though.

not sure what the have contributed to anything apart from DRM
i think they had a shrink once, not sure.

would avoid.

first three albums are fantastic

justice is pretty great as well

black album is pure shite

load/reload are underrated

st. anger has a couple of really good tracks

death magnetic is okay

lulu is interesting but also uninteresting and bad

This is correct

Well, what happened to the Simpsons was a tragedy.

What happened to Metallica was a comedy.

I don't really get the criticism of the lyrics. Yeah, they're not exactly introspective or intelligent, but nothing in their thrash days exactly crosses that threshold either.

Saw an interview where
>Jaymz
said that he doesn't curse because muh kids. And that they're powerful words.

So, either
>Jaymz
is being edgy, or he really means it. Hard to say.

I can't into Youthanasia because Mustaine has always been full of himself, so when he says "Don't worry about me, guys, only my body is gone, my spirit is still here" I want to vomit.

I can respect Countdown for its innovation, but god fucking damn it's accessible and shallow.

Also, they haven't posted the full song, have they?

maybe true, in real life you wouldn't roll with bible bashers like megadeaf, god bleff.

fuck metal if you need mega* or met* in your names. faggotry.

If you're saying metal bands can't have cheesy names, I have some bad news for you.

i know what i said.

>but god fucking damn it's accessible and shallow.

Is that really any different to Black Album?

this is most accurate

Nope. It was Dave copying Jaymz.

Megadeth's first four (minus So Far So Good) > Ride the Lightning = Kill 'Em All > Who cares

The Black Album is ok if you play it at 1.25 speed on Youtube.

Check this out boys, it's what Hardwired would sound like in the 80's

I really like them and for me Justice is their best album
And Lulu wasnt that bad

Have you guys seen the hilarious documentary about Metallica? I forget what it's called now, but in it the drummer Lars sells some of his paintings and in general the band come across as having more money than sense.

Terminator 2 had a bigger budget, and was made later, so there's no comparison, but Some Kind of Monster was funner.

...

>WE'RE SO FUCKED
>SHIT OUT OF LUCK
>HARDWIRED TO SELF DESTRUCT

>implying these lyrics aren't classic Metallica tier

Everything after The Black Album sucks w/the exception of Garage Inc.

I think I'd rather listen to the first two G.B.H. albums since Whiplash is just a long G.B.H. song with a long lead solo for a middle eight. Don't believe me? Just play Race Against Time and Whiplash back to back. Fuck there are pictures of James Hetfiled wearing a G.B.H. t-shirt out there somewhere.

Go to bed Dave. You were an asshole and a violent drunk That's why you got kicked out. You got what you deserved. You had it coming. (And fuck your racist pro Trump politics/rhetoric!)

it's definitely true
the first 4 megadeth albums completely shit all over anything metallica produced in the 80s
you can't touch Peace Sells and Rust in Peace and even the debut and SFSGSW had a decent amount of madness

>Megadeth
>shitting over Metallica

with gems such as these huh

youtube.com/watch?v=2wqw9DktF2o

youtube.com/watch?v=BQ3Q2WAzW8Q

youtube.com/watch?v=S6LL5iA6y9o

youtube.com/watch?v=7mWPJK1wJnM

youtube.com/watch?v=YqDeBrN-J3w (music in this is fine, but goddamn are the lyrics CRINGE AS FUCK)

youtube.com/watch?v=XL752-bVgLs

and, my absolute favourite when it comes to the legendary Megadeth cringe:

youtube.com/watch?v=SWFVi3jEJMY

I fucking dare you to listen to this one without cringing, it's literally impossible.

you must be autistic

Looking Down the Cross
Last Rites
Devil's Island
The Conjuring
Good Mourning
Bad Omen
My Last Words
Set the World on Fire
In My Darkest Hour
Holy Wars
Hangar 18
Take No Prisoners
Five Magics
Poison was the Cure
Lucretia
Tornado of Souls
Rust in Peace

Did you seriously single out Take no Prisoners and In My Darkest Hour as bad songs?
And then drove your point in with a stupid 1 and a half minute drab that wasn't even in the actual album?

Dave a shit vocalist

i like load and reload

his vocals are cooler than hetfield's and he writes better vocal lines
they pretty much have as many decent songs as any other metallica album

They're both cringefests. Granted, the music isn't bad, but Dave's vocals and lyrics make it so goddamn cringy. Seriously, the lyrics in In My Darkest Hour?
>I walk, I walk alone into the promised land.
>There's a better place for me
>But it's far, far away
>Everlasting life for me in a perfect world
>But I gotta die first
>Please God send me on my way

top kek

>Metallica vs. Megadeth fan rivalry
I didn't realize that we were all teenagers in the 1990s

You realize you're putting him up against Hetfield, not Cohen, right?
Are those lyrics worse than Fade to Black?
Not at all.
and the music is better than fade to black too
i'd rather this than argue about death grips and kendrick lamar

It's metal, what do you expect?

You posted their last album worth listening to. That's all you really need to know about Metallica.

But he writes better riffs than James.

Autism achieved.

You posted a lot of good Megadeth songs m8. I think the other poster is right after all. At least Mustaine didn't have to steal musical ideas from Hetfield to make his albums. And Megadeth always has better musicians.

Their 80's stuff is their golden age, Black Album was okay and then they went to being shit and worse.

My personal album ranking:

Ride The Lightning > Justice >Master Of Puppets > Kill 'Em All> Black Album> everything else.

Post Season they're trash.

Objectively true. Too bad Dave doesn't want to play tracks like The Conjuring or Looking Down The Cross etc., fuck his Christian beliefs.

outlaw torn is the GOAT metallica song
youtube.com/watch?v=yIkSOx6kkMY

Ride > puppets > kill > justice > black > whocares

>Ride first
I like (you).

I unironically like his vocals, but I prefer prime Hetfield (read the 80's) to Dave.

this and bleeding me is better than anything from their thrash era
only manchildren with shit taste in metal disagree

his vocals aren't bad ffs, he's an amazing vocalist, he's just a bad singer
who gives a rat's ass about singing, this is thrash metal, his vocals have so much character and intensity

I totally agree with you, user.

wew lad

don't cut yourself on that edge, user.

>(And fuck your racist pro Trump politics/rhetoric!)

Am i the only big guy who thoroughly enjoyed Death Magnetic?

You Metallica fags will always compare there new shit with their best work, you cant do that with any artist.

whether its rap, metal, alternative its impossible for an artist to reach the same bar they did with their original work. PERIOD.

I'd nomrally agree with you, but Dave's singing, for me, is literally unlistenable, especially in a live setting.

It had good ideas, but the mixing...
I would say that I liked it tho

"No"

Overkill > Big Four

true....

half of those are really good songs
why don't you play some of the really good ones

...

lmao

there's no one sadder than David "pls let me back in metallica ;_;" Cumstaine

I've listened to most of their stuff, and liked it even though I probably won't care to listen to it again. But I can't stop listening to this album, I'm enjoying it so much, even with its >no bass.
Why?

Is my favorite album, even tho there is no bass. The funny thing is that i am a bassist

favorite ranking ITT
