not the point. nobody implied joy division were obscure (though its anecdotal, most of the people i know have never heard of them). regardless what was implied was that its usually bad when a band like joy division gets a lot of exposure because that means more normies listening to transmission or disorder twice then buying an unknown pleasures shirt and being like "oh yea i love joy division lol xd" which in turns makes JD into an even bigger meme. i wouldnt have any problem with more people listening to them if you know... they actually LISTENED to them. i would actually love it if more people actually listened to joy division (more than just their singles) because then i could talk to them about their music. but thats not the case. so many people these days only listen to singles, never actual full albums or compilations or anything like that. and thats not even a joy division thing, thats literally an every band/artist thing. i dont know how this got so long, but im on poppy seed tea so that might be why.
