Spotify :)
Spotify
spotify, but I use gpm because spotify won't accept my credit card
i read that the music quality in gpm is better, is that true?
neither
ur mum
Tidal, because I care about audio quality and artists getting properly compensated.
I use Google Music
Spotify has 320kbps if you pay for it.
Spotify is beautiful, I love it
Google has 320kbps and pays more than any other streaming platform
GPM obviously if you know what you want to listen too, its all around a better platform but google doesnt sponsor as much content on news sites so their's less easily acsessible playlists out there. Spotify is probaly better if your an edm fan. However, soundcloud is better than both for edm so unless you are an autist who refuses to use multiple platforms theres no reason to not use GPM
You're an autist considering you're suggesting a platform based on the edm quality of them, edm sucks and all the good things are on spotify, plus it's beautiful.
Apple music
Bait
Underage detected
Hello, Jigga. :)
Neither
Spotify treats artists like the trash that they are, and I appreciate that.
spotify ain't bad but gpm blows it out of the water. shame google doesn't market it more so people would actually realize this
for example, gpm lets you upload your own files and stream them in conjunction with their library, so if there's anything they don't have (e.g. king crimson) you can just add it yourself.
also you can edit the tags for music in your library, so if all the songs have like "(Remastered)" or some shit on their names, if the album art is shitty quality or something, if the title capitalization is incorrect, or if anything else is wrong, you can change it
Google because I want to stream my personal collection of random shit that isn't available to stream on Spotify.
No I don't want to save it to my phone.
Apple Music
Spotify on PC, but I got 3 months of GPM free with my Nexus 6P
That being said I use Blackplayer for my own music.
this
plus being able to download and delete music when the fuck ever is always good
third for apple music
Good Music is highly practical.
>download from what / slsk
>scripted to correct tags / filenames and import to library automatically
>upload to Play automatically
>for free
which do you prefer, Reddit or Facebook?
Google Play Music bc there's an app that lets you download all the music you have in your library in 320 kbps
A fucking record player you pleb.
Apple Music
Apple Music haha broke boii
...
Spotify
>unironic vinyljerk
>unironic use of the word pleb
Are you a Luddite or just a newfag?
Streaming music is for plebs and normies.
I use Google.
>unironically using canned music spoonfeed services
>is later gonna make a "why there is only shitty music" thread on Sup Forums
Groove Music on my PC at home, Spotify when I'm on the go.
>unironically using canned music spoonfeed services
I mean, if you use the radio function or otherwise tastemaking algorithms.
The music I upload to Play is from my own library to be streamed later.
>is later gonna make a "why there is only shitty music" thread on Sup Forums
uh, dude...
Stupid cunt question here
why streaming platforms are bad
Spotify is better because it's ubiquitous. Last.fm and a lot of review sites link directly to Spotify, so it's a good way to try out new stuff. It's become YouTube for me, but tailored for music. I don't use it for my main listening and probably never will, but who knows.
The interface can be annoying and there's stuff not on there, but it's fine as long as you don't rely on it exclusively. I'm sceptical of people who love music getting it mainly through some company's closed ecosystem, but I can't deny that it's a convenient way to discover stuff.
Audio quality is fine on Spotify. I don't know what Google uses, but 256 kbps .ogg is what I transcode stuff to put on my phone anyway.
As for how they treat the artists, I think it's blown out of proportion. Yes they get paid very little, but realistically people who just stream music wouldn't pay for every album they listen to if they stopped being available on Spotify. They would pirate or just listen to less music.
The people who care and have the money still go to shows, buy merch and physical albums etc. Although it is concerning how the dinosaur labels are maintaining their power in the streaming age (for now) at the expense of artists. The services themselves aren't at fault from what I understand. These massive labels make sure they get their money and rip off the artists as usual. The best way to solve it is by supporting independent labels. Most of the huge artists who promoted Tidal are getting paid roughly the same no matter what.
I've gotten a bitter distaste for Spotify as of late
Managing 2000+ lists is such a hassle there
>No search function
>When you go out of list and back in it takes you back to the top (confirmed to be an added feature)
>Some songs/albums have pretty shit quality
Only plus side is the social stuff as well as discover weekly
Recently started using Musicbee, much better music management, but then again, you can't support the bands unless you pay
Not sure about Google Play Music, but Spotify is trash
Why does spotify get all the shit about not paying their artists? Its partly owned by the major labels, so they're just as much to be blamed.
>No search function
For lists I meant
I also hate the UI, not too informative on the stuff I'm interested in
Well spotify has now added "Offers" so that people can see what the band is selling and link it to the bands site or merch shop. They are evolving.
if anyone wants Spotify on their android phone but doesn't want to play shuffle all the time and doesn't want to have ads: www68.zippyshare.com
and no, you can't download the music and play it offline
it's not only spotifys fault; it's a deal between the streaming platform and the labels an dif artists don't care about the contract then they don't deserve appropriate payment
Hov pls go.
Its amazing to me that spotify has 30 million paying subscribers, pay little to their artists, use complex tax schemes and still manage to lose money
Which has better audio quality? I have Spotify Premium which has "up to" 320kbps but I know for a fact that a lot of the offerings are worse than that.
my own local files streamed to my hi-fi over my wireless network via spotify with ezblocker enabled and "disable all ads" turned on
Spotify because it gives you access to Inedit, Ocora and Folkways, as if people on Sup Forums would care.
Spotify because it's on PS3
Just so everyone knows, the personal collection streaming is free (at least it is for me). It just has an upload limit (I want to say it's like, 10k tracks). If my phone's reception and coverage was better, I'd use that shit all the time. But I like using Apollo anyways.
It's because all of their employees are a bunch of idiot millennials who spend all of the company's cash on parties and other stupid shit. It's a common thing with modern businesses. Snapchat is the same way, from what I've read.
Name of such app?
They aren't on paper. But when companies and labels actively try to fuck over artists, it becomes shitty.

I use Google Play but only to stream my own library
I was using GPM for a while before they added streaming, so it only makes sense to keep using it.
I liked spotify a lot but there isn't much it can do that GPM can't.
the only good thing about tidal is the dope album art animation. their playlists and library set up is ass
I use Google Music because its free. All you need to do is upload your music, you get to pick the title and album art and it functions like a superior iTunes. The problem with Spotify is that manually uploading songs that Spotify doesn't have is a pain.
If you just like mainstream music and dont mind paying go with Spotify. I give Spotify a slight edge beause they include the # of streams each songs and way better charts. I like that as a stats geek.
The problem with Google is it seems like they're trying to use algorithims for everything instead of real people. I see a ton of incorrect info on albums on GM plus whenever I send in a correction I never get a reply. I got a reply from Spotify within 24 hours for a correction I submited.
The app is called Music Mate and its free for the first 50 songs you download. Then you have to pay like 4 dollars but you get unlimited songs. It's kind of buggy but it works pretty well
I kek'd
Yeah I don't even sub to Google Play, I just use it to have my whole music library on my phone.
You can add local music to Spotify
not interested in the paid features of either app but Google Play was already on my phone, so...
Spotify. I don't like the layout Google play uses
I kek'd out loud
>pm lets you upload your own files and stream them in conjunction with their library
You can do the same thing with spotify, I put songs from my pc on my playlist that aren't on their catalog (Joanna Newsom for example), and spotify downloads the song automatically in my phone
I'd rather just pay my $15/month for my seedbox with my What CD account
Google Play. I enjoy having unlimited music and i like the layout.
>unironically paying $15 for torrenting
absolutely retarded. i haven't spent a penny on anything and have a buffer that would take ages to erode.
2000 lists, this is some next level autism. How can you defend this? Post pics pls.
Google Music
Spotify has a better library for what I like.
The only thing I wish better is the theme, since you can't customize it.
