can we stop rehashing cheat vs choke now that choke is retired?
He's the GOAT. Nothing to discuss.
Only a very butthurt set of particular fans disagree
Holy shit
Why do people insist on posting the same threads over and over and over?
Peyton the GOAT? Lol
I'm an Eagles fag and have Montana at #1 and Brady at #2, great QBs don't have garbage Owl statlines consistently
Brady was carried for 3 Owls. Who gives a fuck about those times he won an owl when he was Teddy Bridgewater tier
welcome to Sup Forums friend
Why do people think Brady didn't cheat?
We just like to remind bawwston fans how in their own bubble they are.
Delusional bawwston fans my m7
Their bubble of championships
that is a popularity contest, not a measure of who the better QB is (which is laughable, Brady has cemented myself now, this isn't 4 years ago)
Personally as a Niners fan I'm more pissed that it's Payton vs Brady and not Montana vs Brady, that discussion is actually worth having
Put Brady on any other team, or leave him on the Patriots with a coach other than Bellichik and he's a Brees-tier memeback
So he'd still be really fucking good?
bardy's limp noodle body would have been torn to pieces in the 1980s. he wouldn't have lived long enough to get to his first super bowl.
>this is purely hypothetical but I will state it as fact
Lmao its Montana.
>Peyparm and bradley exist during the passing era
>bradley cheats
>peyparm rapes, shills, and dopes
>peyton fans are stat whores
>bradleyfags are literally autistic baahstanfagd
Neither bradcuck or chic-en-parm deserve to be #1
believe what you want, but do you really think captain checkdown would have a good time in an era when defense wasn't handcuffed? it was almost a different game back then.
I've seen Brady take plenty of blind side hits from 250+ lbs of pure muscle and get right back up again, calling the guy a pussy is really just dumb
There comes a point in disliking a player where you start to become irrational in your statements, and that is when you lose, just remember that. Focus on stuff like deflategate or whatever
i don't give a fuck about deflategate and i am not a bardy hater. andrew luck is the biggest bust of the century and he deserved to lose that game. but modern quarterbacks are just not exposed to the frequency and level of punishment that joe montana and his peers. and modern quarterbacks don't have to worry about their receivers getting raped on the field.
this is the most arbitrary bullshit statement I've ever seen regarding the NFL on spee
>the reason Peyton is considered better is other fans are just salty
Lmao
This entire post is retarded. Every line
Greater: Brady
Better: Peyton
keep on thinking that the nfl hasn't been castrated. keep on thinking that passing era qbs wouldn't be dropping like flies if they played back then. it's hardly the same game anymore.
>People unironically comparing Montana to modern QBs
Montana would struggle to beat out Hoyer or Osweiler for a starting spot nowadays. You just can't compare older athletes to their modern counterparts. Its the same as retards who call Maradona or Pele the greatest footballers of all time.
That is precisely why
Pretty much everyone in the country who isn't a NE fan hates Tom Brady. This is fact and it is a well known fact.
Pretty much everyone in the country has a hard on for Payton Manning because HURR HE'S SO FUNNY ON SNL
Tom Brady is without equal in this era of football, Joe Montana is the greatest of all time
Why do you type like a 13 year old girl?
>You just can't compare older athletes to their modern counterparts
Right, Jerry Rice is totally over rated
That is clearly not what I said. They were greats for their time, but athletes have only improved since.
It's true though. The rules changes over the past 40 years have been toward a more passer-friendly game
>credible people call Brady better
>pleb casual majority calls Manning better
gee golly what a coincidence!@!!
You can't compare players from different eras. Different rules, different play-calling conventions, different strength and conditioning
>he doesn't think Jerry Rice could cut it in today's NFL
If you time travelled peak Jerry Rice to the modern game, and he had the same knowledge of the modern game as modern players, he MAY (a huge may) be able to get a start but there is no way he's better than Julio Jones, Antonio Brown etc
...
jerry rice was smarter than both of those people combined.
You are a tool. Rice isn't better than Julio Jones? His "era" was not that long ago, and if anything, rules have been implimented to make Wr's job easier since then.
Rice would outclass them both m8
>play in an era where DBs could literally turn WRs over and fuck them in the ass on the field without consequence
>somehow this means a WR wouldn't be able to cut it in an era where DBs can't breathe on a WR pasta few yards off the line of scrimmage
nigga you dumb as hell
This is the same in literally every sport/athletic competition. There is a reason that records continually get broken.
Perhaps, but its likely that peak era Jerry Rice isn't on the same level physically.
Its worth noting that I don't disagree that proprortionlly/pound for pound/ for his time, Rice was a better player in that era than these players are now; but that's not how you decide "greatest of all time".
You mean like these records?
Most career games played by a position player- 304
Most career Receiving Yards- 22,895
Most career Receptions- 1,540

Fastest player to gain 23,000 yards from scrimmage- 285 GP
>There is a reason that records continually get broken.
You have to look at the degree to which the person's accomplishment is an outlier.
Dan Marino's 48 TD season for instance is far more impressive than either Brady's or Manning's TD season just compared to his peers, but what is even more impressive is that Brady and Manning are beneficiaries of tons of rules changes that made the game far more passer-friendly, and still only barely were able to eclipse Marino's record.
Majority of those "most career X" are helped by his ridiculously long career.
The rest are from a different era and can't be compared really. Again, I don't disagree that Rice was a better player "in his era" than modern receivers "in their era". Thats not what I'm trying to say.
If a coach would want to win the Super Bowl, he would take Brady ten times out of ten.
actually most of them are Fastest To records, in case you can't fucking read
>hurr, he only has records because he had such a long career!
Because he was the hardest working person in the NFL every single year and earned all of it because of his incredible physical ability and unflappable work ethic and intense training regimen
I don't even know why I'm wasting my time on you, he is widely considered to be the best football player of all time, including quarterbacks
unless his opponent was the new york giants :^)
But all that does is tell us how good Montana was in HIS era. You're working with completely different varaibles.
As far as who had the more difficult era, I'd say theres many arguments to be made for the modern era. Players are just generally bigger, faster, stronger. The rest of the field is much, much more structured and specialised and skilled.
Again, this comes up in soccer a lot too (Maradona/Pele v Messi/Ronaldo.) while for the most part Maradona and PEle's accomplishments are more impressive, the quality of the game is inherently poorer.
>they just mad! They be hating that's why they don't vote for Tom!
Yeah that's why Manning topped all those player polls as the best QB and one all those MVPS
Sorry Patsbitch
>Can't read
You obviously can't comprehend a fairly basic seperation. I refer to all the "most career X" records in the first line, then refer to "the rest" i.e. the Fastest To records in the second line.
I'm not questioning whether or not he earned it; but it is just logical that records based on amassing the largest number are made much easier by long careers, and Rice had a ridiculously long career.
>Considered the best of all time
I won't argue that he isnt the most accomplished/impressive/ greatest of his era/better in his era than others in their era. However, to say that peak Rice transported to 2016 could accomplish the exact same demonstrates a lack of understanding of the escaltion of sports.
receivers have been becoming freaks of nature over time, quarterbacks have stayed mostly the same aside from the pistol memers. so throwing accuracy is not as important as it once was.
>espn polls
lmao
someone post the "which young qb would you rather have" poll where rodgers pretty much comes in last place
That was before any of them had a year under their belt.
This was after these 2 had 30 years combined between them.
Your tears are delicious tho
>in his era
he retired in 2004, the nfl really hasn't changed much since then and the changes made would have only helped Rice's numbers
stick to soccer you retarded britbong fuck
come on, what team do you root for, out with it
>Implying the numbers from Rice's last years were impressive
>Jumping to insults and flag references because you're literally seething and otu of arguments
Please respond "b-but his age" so you can look even more devastated at being schooled over the basics of biology and sport. Your butthurt is hilarious.
>please say that his decline in performance was due to him being 40+ years old I dare you
First of all he was a pro-bowler in 2002, secondly are you seriously going to say that his age had nothing to do with it?
Enough man, seriously enough.
>yeah that water turned to ice, I dare you to say it's because of entropy, come on do it
>says he was carried in his owls
>led his team to a late fourth quarter lead in all 6 owls he appeared in, with 3 of his 4 wins containing a last 5 minute drive to win the game
Are you fucking retarded?
Don't mention his later years in a positive fashion and then say they don't count negatively because of his age. Its a dumb thing to do and why I keep making a point of referring to "peak" jerry rice and "his era". Because his later years aren't fair to point out on my side.
>6 TD's 1 INT 99 Passer rating 240 YDs/game in his first 3 Owls
>Teddy Bridgewater
Brady will go to the owl one last time this year who gonna stop him Sanchez??? Fat raplisburger??
>filming the opposing teams practicing
>only winning by 3 pts each time
Again, probowl 2002
He never averaged lower than 10 yards a reception in his career, and had back to back 1,000+ yard seasons when he was 40-41. The only reason it wasn't 3 seasons in a row is because he was thrown to a 1/3 less amount of the time, if you run the numbers he would have done just as if not better than those other 2 seasons
The dude was timeless, I can hardly believe you are trying to discredit his accomplishments, it's embarassing
Now I have 50 things to do more important than try to explain american football to yuropoors, like scratching my balls
>>tfw in preparation for first trackday you put on all new premium performance tires, synthetic oil, new plugs, brake pads, brake fluid, change coolant, tape off headlights

Vikings
>he scored a touchdown in the 4th quarter!
I bet you're one of those Patcucks that blames the defense for 18-1
Brady was always just a check down and screen babby.
Peyton was the better quarterback
Tom won more Superbowls
Peyton was the better football player
Is it really that complicated?
> Manning: 2 Super Bowls and a meme brought to you by Nationwide and HGH
> Brady: A flaming faggot who cheats his way to "victory".
Does it really surprise you that absolutely no one outside of Boston likes Brady?
Name one time he cheated idiot.
>Inb4 my deflategates
Shit was disproven.
>manning did HGH but that doesn't make him a cheater!
No evidence he did hgh, but if he did, and if brady deflated footballs, then 1) how does that make brady cheater and not manning? & 2) how is deflating footballs even half as bad as taking hgh?
>Credible people think Brady is better
>Peyton has 5 MVPs and 7 first team All Pros, easily more than Brady
Kill yourself
He scored 1 TD in his first super bowl run
Are you retarded?
Brady had more TD passes in one Super Bowl game than Peyton had in his entire SB career.
3-2
Neat.
Peyton is the better player
Tom Brady has always been the less talented and skilled of the two.
>a rapist vs. a cuckold
>ameripolls
Only Patscucks really disagree
lacking hard evidence and being disproven are two very, very different things.
he may be a flaming faggot, but he is the best QB in NFL history
...
Manning basement dwelling stans are trying so hard to keep this non-debate alive
Hilarious
>Favre under Elway and Merino
Kekkity kek.
Exactly.
There is very little evidence at all that props up deflategate or that brady had anything to do with it if it did happen.
Fucking get over it. Sorry brady beat your team 10 out of the last 12 times.
Elway > Favre familia
Fuck Marino.
Doesn't that mean that 53% don't think he's the best?
for manning it is all said and done
6 owls, 4 rings, in 15 years
yeah it sucks here, i wish i was a (your team here) fan
>elways and peyton above marino
ISHYDDT
pls marino would have put bigger stats that peyton and would have won at least one ring in todays nfl
sup teddy, i was looking for your superbowl stats.... but you dont have any
...
Take a look at that score btw. I wonder who scored all those points?
dude that picture is from right before he kicked the game winning field goal.
>the point
>your head
Brady is top 10 even with the cheating.
Peyton is top 3.
manning is a pathetic sellout
duuuuuuuuuuude
the point is brady didn't win that game he could only get them to the 40 yard line.
lets not ignore literally everything else he did during the game.
what does it matter if you're tied at the end. adam is the clutchest kicker in league history and brady benefited from that, there's no two ways around it. who the hell knows what would have happened in OT the way those teams were playing.
