Are you crazy? Are you out of your mind?

You mean improve?

Came here to post this

once you get past Into The Void on disc 2, it's all downhill from there. the absolute nadir of the Fragile, and probably NIN's discography, is Starfuckers, Inc., and that's saying something when you consider how unpleasant some of NIN's later stuff could be to listen to

All the half-assed instrumental tracks in a row pretty much ruined the flow of the album. It's a shame, because the singer's got a great voice

>(you)

...

Diamond Dogs is a better example of this. The first half might be some of my favorite Bowie ever. Then the second half comes and it isn't necessarily bad, but it's so obviously not as good as the first half.

Literally no filler on this album imo. The track listing is superb.

Five Years is obviously a superb opener, and the album gets off to a fast and rocking pace. Then we get the slightly slower It Aint Easy and Lady Stardust as an intermission of sorts, although both are still great songs, before Star kicks in and we get a sting of fast rockers which build up to the dramatic climax of Rock n Roll Suicide. Because of how the album has a pretty steady decline and then rise in terms of pace and energy with the middle acting as a bridge between the two, the experience never gets boring for me.

And anyway side two is the stronger side. Suffragette City is a top 10 and maybe even top 5 Bowie track, and Star and Ziggy Stardust are just great.

Actually never mind I'm thinking about it again and I really only have an issue with Rock and Roll with Me and 1984.

>inb4 shit taste
I'm not saying it was spectacular in the first half, but the second half is forgettable garbage with the exception of the final track.

...

Why? It's a good song, a much better take on drums and bass than perfect drug

no

Fame>Infamy is great tho come on dude

>carpal tunnel
>bang the doldrums
>the afterlife of the party

u rong

>Channel Orange
It's good for sexual confusion

Everything after the opening track is pure self masturbatory tripe.

Alright, maybe I was a little hyperbolic with "forgettable garbage." I just don't think any of those really hold up to the first half, with the exception of maybe the (after) life of the party. They just sound like songs that were put in as an afterthought. Fame > Infamy sounds kind of like it should be a Panic! at the Disco song, but I'm not sure that's a bad thing.

This album falls apart at almost exactly the second half imo.

Tragically so.

Although I still loved Government Plates and I wouldn't call any part of it "BAD," the first half of the album did have all the best and most interesting songs.

Oh, shoot, I forgot about The Perfect Drug, the song so bad even Trent himself called it the worst thing he ever made. My bad.

Yes, it's better than The Perfect Drug, but by no means does it make it very good.

Besides Devil In A New Dress and Runaway, you're absolutely fucking right. 10/10 my ass

What the fuck are you on about nigger..

But the opening track is also half to mostly masturbatory tripe.

I have NEVER seen an album fall apart so bad in its second half, as with Noise. From the first track to Here feels like a continuation of their last album, but with light industrial elements, and a general anger about it that just works. I like EVERY song. After "Here" the album shifts completely down the drain. Get Out feels on the same track, but any subtlety or cleverness with it is just GONE. The only good song on the second side is Pulse, which feels like with minor alterations it could be on any archive album, and with a band with this much variety in their discography that's not a good thing. Everything else just feels sappy and trite, and this is a band who normally can do that every once and a while but it just sucks.

>any song on ziggy is bad
Get out of here.

Fucking love this song
Great tracks too
Second half is WAY better than the first.

I mean this in a very, very good way. The entire album feels like a descent into self loathing, depression and hatred.
There's a reason Siamese Twins/The Figurehead is the best 2 song stretch of the album, and it's that Figurehead and Strange Day are basically the door to the tunnel that leads to hell at the end of this album. Cold is the red hot iron door, and Pornography is you burning your hand, pulling the door open and jumping into the flames to end it.

...

>Goddess On A Hiway
>Funny Bird
>literally the best songs
This album isn't very good either way but you're wrong

Still good, just drops in quality towards latter half

Fucking this. Great record but nothing on it matches up to even the god-tier opener.

In a straight throughline from Holes to Hudson Line, the album has a very dense childlike and wistful mood, tinged with melancholy. After that, The Happy End feels like a little epilogue track. Goddess On a Hiway and The Funny Bird feel totally removed from the mood of the album, and in general are too long and not super interesting. The orchestrations are lame, and the melody to Goddess on a Hiway is obnoxious.

Pick Me Up if You're There is boring and feels like a filler ambient track for the sake of it, and Delta Sun Bottleneck is a fine song but too little too late.

...

SHUT UP FANTANO

You’re an idiot.
Absolutely not.
Where do you live cause I will come there and make you look like the cover art you shitbrid of a troll.

Delete this

Idioteque is great to be fair
I agree
Yeah but that first half is killer

Op said get worse not get better
first 3 songs aren't half of the album

No
Pretty much tho that track is also at least half bullshit too

we are the dead is an incredible track

this is the only correct answer

The only one in the thread I agree with. The first 5 tracks are perfection, and it really drops off until the very end.

Station to Station

bowie always saves the best songs for the second half of the album

sky pup is so shit

He usually puts all his strong hard-hitters and singles in the first half, the 2nd half of his albums are incredible also, but are harder to recognize for non-fans.

Tbh The more I've listened to this the more the second half growns on me warm healer might be my favourite at this point

...

I think you meant to post Aladdin Sane.

Let's Dance fucking falls apart on Side B. The tracks aren't bad, but most of them are just filler. That's what happens when you move all your single material to Side A and put them at the very beginning, no less.

true
but time and lady grinning soul are great though

Yeah, but unfortunately they're at the opposite tail ends of the side.

I haven't really thought about but yeah Noise kind of does lose its kick somewhere along the line. The first two songs are easily the best which exaggerates the problem.

That being said Conscience and Me&You still speak to me when I'm in a particularly melancholy mood, which is usually when I'd be putting on this album anyways.

YALTSTM is the superior Craig Walker-era album.

As for the thread topic, pic related is 10/10 right up until Little Black Submarines ends then it's all over the place.

kill yourself

...

It's weird. Only album I've felt like with this.

the 2nd half is so good though
bang the doldrums and the afterlife of the party are good pop songs, the first half has golden so it's instantly worse

shit taste

...

most of them are still good, but the overlord has to be one of the worst songs ive ever heard

>there aren't any words to sing along to, this is boring

f off

Master of Puppets. Second half is just boring and mediocre.

kys

...

>I'm afraid of Americans
>law
What the fuck are you spouting about?

...

Shit wrong pic
>duplicate file exists here
Low. I overrall don't care for the album but the second half had nothing to it.

how the fuck did you come to that conclusion

>Climbing Up The Walls
>No Surprises
>The Tourist
>(You)

Second half is just Brian Eno being Brian Emo for half an hour. Only good music is a new career in a new town. Nice taste user :)

>Implying tr's nadir wasn't either Everything, or the entirety of the HTDA full-length

>not mentioning Lucky
>(You)

The Tourist is actually really good, and I enjoy Electroengineering (or however you spell it), but Paranoid Android and Airbag set the bar too high, imo

ITT: People don't have the patience to go through a full album, listen to the second part of it in a half-assed way and then complain like bitch niggas

Jump off the cliff

should've just been the first ten tracks and then the good stuff from endless, everything after solo reprise is shit

>K. WEST
What does it mean? Did Kanye kill David Bowie?

>the song so bad even Trent himself called it the worst thing he ever made.
Trent Reznor said no such thing. You must be thinking of Deep

papermag.com/david-bowie-kanye-west-conspiracy-theory-1555568234.html

All of it is shit tho.

I think you meant Diamond dogs

I really liked President Heartbeat, a shame that it's one of the very last songs on the album.

But yeah I agree with this, but the second half isn't completely trash but some are yawn and almost identical to one another.

But Warzsawa is the best song.

You're actually fucking autistic. Kill yourselves.

Especially you. I hope you die alone, suffering a long and painful death, you cuckold.

...

Kinda but i still dig it.

absolutely

the second half is better though

...

learn to spell it then

t. butthurt polack

sorry mate, nothing more than two letters switched around. Warsazama is the best though
