IMO it's just more fun to listen to, and I think it has more consistently great songs than Moon. Also I prefer the raw/lo-fi angry energy to whatever Moon was going for, though I respect the ambition.
Whoops meant this for , obviously.
thisun for me
Still the lonesome west which is tied with The Moon and Antartica. This is a Long Drive for Someone With Nothing To Think About is a great album but they were still haven't got their sound yet, not until an album later.
As far as best song, Cowboy Dan. Not just musically, but lyrically it sums up the theme of the entire album. Some guy who is a victim of the spreading urbanization that swallows him and the life he once knew. He was a king in the cowboy scene and his small rural life and now he is just a watered down angry husk of his former self. It doesn't matter where he goes or what he says he depressed and defeated by the city that moved to him.
Building nothing is best tbqh
Closing time, is this really a question lmao
Atleast none of you fucks said the cockoroach song.
Also this is a better album and
>tiny city made of ashes
>I'm trying
>I'm trying to
>Drink away the part of the day that I cannot sleep away
What are some similar artists to early Modest Mouse?
I already like Built to Spill and Dinosaur Jr.
Also; what do you think about pic related?
See
I'm really quite fond of the album These are Not Fall Colours by Lync. They were friends with MM, same scene
Also Departures and Landfalls by Boys LIfe, which is more emo, but gives me similar feels to Long Drive era Modest Mouse
Cool, listening to these now. Thanks for the recommendations
