Honestly I think it's weird that I even have to rate that album when rating Pink Floyd's discography. I'm really not a Syd Barrett fan, and his whole aesthetic held no relevance to Pink Floyd's in sound and attitude. Syd was whimsical sunshine flowers and sparkles, Pink Floyd were literate, brooding, and at times esoteric. It's not that I don't like psychedelia, I love psychedelia, but I honestly don't like vintage psych. It didn't really get good until around the 90's with Mercury Rev and such.

Well I guess that's your opinion but I couldn't possibly disagree more. Barrett/early Floyd was the best Floyd and this is even coming from a prog fan. I feel like 60s/70s psych and neopsych arent even comparable they sound almost nothing alike.

You care about things that a. Don't matter, and 2. Aren't true.

It's good that I haven't listened to Elliott in a while because if I rated them a few months ago I wouldn't have even been able to pick
Also >There are people in this very thread that don't appreciate Amnesiac and TKoL for the masterpieces that they are lmao you guys know this is an 18+ board right
Jesus that's impressive
I got really into Coil a few months ago but I haven't listened much since. I was really trying to get into MTPITD2 and Time Machines for a while though. Time Machines is fucking monolithic and I definitely haven't even come close to wrapping my head around it but MTPITD2 is so cold and hollow and beautiful. Hopefully now that it's a little colder out I'll get the motivation to work my way through their discography.
What did you think of the Backwards rerelease? I haven't heard much of TNB to compare it to but I thought it was interesting, if not really as good as their proper releases.
God I really need to listen to more Aphex Twin too
SAW II's front half is kind of spooky and weird and I dunno how I feel about it but the others are unbelievable
Same with drukqs. I dunno how I feel about it as an album but the highlights are amazing.
Daniel Jackson
These fags put out 10 records in like 3 years? What a bunch of fucking garbage
