I can't really get into diiv for some reason

I mean they're okay I guess but absolutely forgettable

Yo mama

yo post a link. you stirred my curiosity

Death Grips

Just search "krautrock documentary" on youtube there's like 4 of them. I think the one I mentioned above was the noisy one because that sounds like some bullshit they would do

These are pretty accurate

I agree with him that "less is more" but I also agree with you that what he's playing sounds like 13 year olds jamming in the garage

It's in ironically The Knife

How the fuck did DIIV come to be known as the modern "krautrock influenced" band?

Thousands of rock bands since the 70s have been influenced by krautrock, what makes DIIV so special

Him, his band, and really that whole scene seems very "style over substance".

Like just because you can name drop all these "obscure" bands, that aren't really all that obscure anymore thanks to the internet, not that that's a bad thing btw, doesn't mean that their music is really in anyway in the spirit of those bands they're name-dropping, and the the whole thing just comes off as pretentious

Idk that's just my general impression, maybe I'm just bitter cause he gets to make music for a living

animal collective

It's always been fashionable to namedrop krautrock bands

no I agree their latest album has very little substance. its partly the fact they have their own formula they change very little from song to song, sameness gets boring. it isn't always "trance inducing" which he likes to think

this desu desu fampai

boredoms haven't made a record since 2004. How is that this generation

that's well in our generation

Either Black Dice or Boredoms.

I don't want to make any claims, but I think this is quite close
