the only emo albums i've played in this past week were goodness and home like noplace is there, does that make me a basic emo bitch

Probably, but home like noplace is there is one of the few good emo records that I can think of that came out in the past few years.

Yo does anyone have any albums that are emo/pop-punk/post-hardcore that aren't American Football and The Devil and God?

I'm looking for new stuff and I have no idea where to look.

We're only 4 posts in and this general is already pleb as fuck

I wouldn't really say those albums are very similar. Do you like poppy stuff like Deja Entendu too or do you just prefer those albums for the more mature lyrical themes?

You start then.

Maybe you'd like this, idk. It's Diazepam, by Turnover. I'm not even sure if you'd really call it emo.

turnover are good pop-punk, but still pop-punk

Ah, okay. I get the two confused sometimes. I need a better definition of what constitutes emo.

Mostly for the themes in their lyrics, yeah.
I only said those two since they seem to be the most popular albums of the emo genre that people talk about here and I just want to get into some new stuff.

is everyone just gonna spend all thread arguing about what emo is again

Mike from merchant ships is cute

are there any emo bands out there that use electronic drums?

Most emo is a little more straightforward lyrically. I'd recommend Sunny Day Real Estate - Diary based off what you said. Check out some bands from the 90s like Mineral, Get Up Kids, etc. and see what style you like best, it's not as hard to find new bands once you have a better idea of your tastes.

anime

where r them!?

oh you mean these

and kona chan ! (WITH A BELLY FULL OF WORMS)

Well first off, Sup Forums is the wrong place to look for that because the majority here don't know any other emo/post-hardcore bands.

I'll give you some:

Saves the Day - Through Being Cool
Saves the Day - Stay What You Are
Bright Eyes - I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning
Bright Eyes - Fevers and Mirrors
Burden of a Day - Pilots And Paper Planes
Cursive - The Ugly Organ
Fear Before The March of Flames - Odd How People Shake
Glassjaw - Worship and Tribute
Icarus Line - Black Lives At The Golden Coast
Mineral - The Power of Failing
Norma Jean - Bless the Martyr and Kiss the Child
Poison The Well - The Opposite of December
Saosin - Translating The Name EP
The Fall of Troy - Doppelganger
Thursday - Full Collapse
Download all these albums. You will thank me later.

you forget taking back sunday

you forgot american football

I was going to put them but figured everyone already knows about them.

Anyway:

Taking Back Sunday - Tell All Your Friends

It's a classic.

amazing that zero emo/screamo albums have been posted since the OP

This week I picked up the RSD Saddest Landscape rerelease of their first 7" and the promise ring/texas is the reason 7"

I might go back for the get up kids 7" they had, it's probably still sitting there.

are the used still screamo

I'm sorry you started a thread for screamo and emotional hardcore, and got a bunch of hipster midwest twink shit.

I'd love to talk about bands like Saetia and Circle Takes The Square with you.

>the majority here don't know any other emo/post-hardcore bands.
>that fucking list
Oh, the irony.

>the majority here don't know any other emo/post-hardcore bands.

Oh, the irony.

Burden of a Day is amazing, but Blessed be Our Every After is much better the Pilots and Paper Planes imo

>hipster
no u

I think it's kinda true. You always see Brand New and American Football threads, but rarely do you see the other bands.
