I always thought Lizard was better than Red, but nobody has ever agreed with me on it

Listening to Red again just in case

>indoor games
>lady of the dancing water
>lizard
it's a good album, but Red is their best 70s work for me.

Why can't anyone see that Islands is the best King Crimson song?

I wouldn't call it their best song, but Islands as an album is heavily underrated.

The drum kick is cool, but it's the ending that gets me.

The last minute of the song leaves me breathless every time.

i wish the vocals were better on that album

daily reminder that scruffles rates Maureen Tucker, Klaus Dinger, and the Boredoms chick higher than Bruford. what does he mean by that?

>The distorted guitar that slides in at 10:15
It's fuckin magic

Also does anyone talk about In the Wake of Poseidon? It's my favorite album right behind Red but I never see it mentioned
WORLD ON THE SCALES
ON
THE
SCAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALES
Yeah, In the Wake of Poseidon is underrated as fuck.

Wake is good, but it's basically a worse ITCOTCK

Probably best song ever OP

I want to watch billard bruford and roberta frippery jack with each other together

I always thought Lizard was a great fucking album, better than ITCCK, but Red is their best effort.

>tfw seeing them in concert today and tomorrow

But the title track is actually better than the one it apes (Epitaph)

I envy you af.

King Crimson.
Japan tour.
When??????

rec songs like Red

here's a song with a similar middle section to starless, but it's brutal-prog zeuhl

People don't even know Epitaph it's a rip-off

Red>Larks'>ITCOTCK>Err'thang else

can u rec similar albums to red?

>listening to KC on Youtube

Yoshimi is really really good and specializes at playing with multiple drummers and not disrupting balance. Mo isn't extremely technical but its like Ringo and Meg White, what else would you play on TVU songs? As for Klaus... Not even the second best Krautrock drummer lol. Bruford is better than all three though

for red fans:

King Crimson albums better than Red:
Larks Tounges in Aspic
Lizard
In the Court of the Crimson King
Islands
Discipline
THRAK
THRaKaTTaK

probably others too but I've not listened to all their stuff

I agree with this statement. Epitaph always sounded a little bit too much on the nose for me

starless box set is their best release

Only Larks and ITCOTCK are better. Red is an incredible example of prog rock

It's a good album, Bolero: A Peacock's Tale is one of my favourite moments in Crimson's discography

Remember not to take any photos, user

THRAK sucks, except for Walking on Air and One Time

just turn the flash off, nigger

Anyone know how they did the guitar sound for the intro in Fallen Angel? It is a reversed guitar?

>what else would you play on TVU songs?
Logan Kroeber beats
check yourself b4 u wreck yourself, my man

i think it's a reversed guitar
fripp uses that in other tracks too
ladies of the road for example

>i don't think it's a
fixed
fucked that up

Fripp is watching you.
