it's 2016, there's way too much to compare it to. there's so much music released at this point that trying to quantify and qualify it is pointless. just accept that there is probably some album that is better out there that you just haven't heard yet.

It was great at its job of being lowkey Berlin school-esq ambient, but in the whole expanse of music it was pretty disappointing. When you make the goal of an album to express an indefinite ephemeral "everything", what you end up with is something indefinite and ephemeral. In other words, somewhat boring and safe. With the amount of music coming out in the year of our lord, there's no room in the whole music rating discourse for indefinite non-descript albums - it must have a specific and applicable purpose to be discussed at any real length. Whether that's how it should be is up for debate, but that's the way contemporary music discourse functions
