Good fucking taste.

I actually agree. Illmatic is overrated as fuck.

Friendly reminder that rap is not welcome on Sup Forums

>>>>>>>>

respectfully disagree, i just don't like jay-z in general though

What do you listen to

music

Illmatic is not even that good.

well duh, illmatic is not even in the top 100 of all time whereas reasonable doubt is GOAT.

>still doesn't like hip hop
For shame

Nice cop out nigger, but your taste isn't any better than anyone else's here

Actual music

Life's a Bitch is probably the worst hook of all time.

OP here, I agree, only posted this because I remembered when people got triggered that Kendrick called Jay the GOAT.
Also when ab-soul fans got triggered that he called Jay his biggest influence and the GOAT because they thought he was "above" that.
And when Wale did it.
And Schoolboy.
And etc etc.

disgusting opinion

Jay also hands down won the beef between him and Nas. Ether is a terrible diss tracks full of lame puns and gay jokes a 12 year old would make.

This is correct.

>Not liking cancer is a bad thing
Alright

>all these contrarians shitting on illmatic
it's far from the best but it's still a great album

i dunno man, there's about 1000 people on this board that have actually good taste and could do great things with it. but they're here instead

>not being brainwashed by indie music critics and popular culture
>bad

Actually I disagree.
I love Takeover and Jays my GOAT.
But Ether just knocks.
Both tracks take common narratives and expand on them or lie about narratives that only they would know.
I found Nas's attacks on Jay's association with famous artists, his Nas fandom, his Jaz conflict, street credibility, and more extra effective.
Even if I disagree with them/think they aren't the truth.
Jay lost when he gave that Radio interview and in the court of public opinion.
Takeover still holds weight though which is impressive.

there aren't even 10 people on this board with good taste you retard

>shit beats that put people to sleep
>rhyming in monotone voice for the entire album

nas can spit really well but that's the only redeemable quality about this lp

check the archive, pick any genre you want, and actually pick through some of the threads. you'll see.

Kendrick confirmed for illuminati scum

Illmatic is essentially peak Nas though.
Not that he didn't improve, but it has his best voice work, succinct tracks, and least pseudo intellectualism.
Every track is unique in some way and probably has his best production.
Songs like NY State Of Mind, Life's A Bitch, The World Is Yours, Memory Lane, and Represent just can't be replicated.

>>shit beats that put people to sleep
I can't call it; the beats make me falling asleep

pack it up boys the god has spoken

>shit beats that put people to sleep

This has always been true...Reasonable Doubt obviously has better beats, but beyond that, Jay-Z's flow has more personality and his lyrics hit harder.

That sounds more like a comparison between RD and IWW to me.

are you fucking kidding me? everything Jay-Z has done completely blows. it wouldn't bother me as much if he had said an actual great album but a Jay-Z album? what the fuck?

you just described Reasonable Doubt

>rap on Sup Forums
Haram

classical

Kendrick has been citing Jay as one of his main influences since he started making mixtapes on tracks.
Has roughly said "I need to make a reasonable doubt before I get called the GOAT".
And has called Jay the GOAT in multiple interviews.

lot of same fagging on here, gotta offer a big old fuck you to them. illmatic slaughters reasonable doubt and no numale 17 year old tryhards can dispute it. jay might have come out on top in terms of bisness and bankroll but ill take nas everytime over jay

post your favorite song from reasonable doubt:

youtube.com/watch?v=gJCVKOcEqnk

the end of the third verse always gets my hype

jay-z didnt even have the best verse on his own album...

youtube.com/watch?v=Xd4YFc83nbI

m.youtube.com/watch?v=DXLZipGz55s
>"No more Big Willie, my game has grown prefer you call me William"

10/10 bait, made me check, this tweet doesnt exist. OP of course is a FAGGOT

Lol what?
Jaz-Os rappity rap was better?
Sauce Money's Raekwon clone verse was better?
Jay Zs verse was perfect.
Wrapped up the Mafiaso themes of the album and his persona by citing all of his film influence, and wrapped up the Reasonable Doubt theme of the album which is fans judging whether he was worthy of being the best MC by issuing a challenge to everyone to "Bring It On" and foreshadowed his future dominance of the game with his last few lines.
Perfect penultimate track before the reflective Regrets.

Actually it does.
Stop spreading misinformation.

...

that beat is just crazy

my favorite line;

>lock my body, can't trap my mind
>easily explains why we adapt to crime

Google Kendrick lamar reasonable doub twitter.
It'll be one of the first links, I've seen it for years and it was wildly retweeted on the anniversary.

you gotta admit that sauce money's flow was dope as hell

I also love.
>I'd rather die enourmas than live Dormant
It's a variation on an already established line like many artists such as Kurt Cobain have done with it, but with the change in it being potential that's below the surface waiting to blow and could be untapped.

It was dope as hell.
Still a direct clone of Raekown though.

Are you a fucking retard who just found out about Sup Forums? Reasonable Doubt is good you fucking virgin.
