I do not know what music genres i like. Sometimes i feel i don't like music at all, there's always some part of a song that ruins it for me. Suggest your favorites or very genre defining songs, i want to find my musical taste.

Post shit you actually enjoy first
Also what this guy said
If you don't like music at all, then you're a true patrician. Congratulations, OP. You've won Sup Forums.
rude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xD
In contrast to this, sometimes I feel there's very few people who ould actually enjoy all genres of music. I genuinly enjoy listening to a whole lot of genres
nice reddit pic
Maybe you should post songs you like with parts you dislike and specify what you like and dislike first
My fav genres are art pop and experimental
Do you even like rap and country?
thats just dadrock and 8 bit edm m8
got your back famalam
Yes, I enjoy it.
Op here, i am going to list a few no-nos for me in songs:
>Nigercore
>Screaming
>Extensive repetition
>3 Chord songs

here listen to this and don't look back
do not know much songs*
fix'd
If you like ELO and you haven't listened to Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds, you probably should. I'd say it is genre defining of progressive and symphonic rock.
Id suggest listening to the whole thing but the first song is regarded as the best

Is this a bait thread?
>Racism
>Dad rock
How old are you exactly?
No
Just hit 18
Thanks, i'll give it a listen, it seems good.
My problem is the quest: What musci do you like? I am never confortable answering it because there is always something in each genre that i really dislike.
Could Dad rock be better put as Classic rock?
Dad rock and classic rock are pretty much synonymous
>Extensive repetition
you will learn to love it

Dad rock is called dad rock for a reason. Most of it can be called classic rock though. ELO can't
If you like dad rock try to expand with more 60's stuff. Try psychedelic music (13th floor elevators, velvet underground, the doors)
Also drop the racism you sad fuck
A lot of people lump Prog rock into dadrock as well. What specifically do you dislike about the music you hear?
I fell as liking gaming soundtracks opens a door for autism, if you get what i mean. Also i think this song is sort of a parody of a very famous one. I don't like this song, it's too "Jazy", in a bad way.
I'll give it a go, thanks for sharing.
Nice, some jazz i like, some i don't. How can i fing the category for each style of jazz?
Thanks for caring, anons. As we say in Brazilian imageboards, "Anão é irmão."
.

>How can i fing the category for each style of jazz?
As in how can you tell what each style is? Well that kinda comes with listening and reading about jazz. I tried to go for a bunch of different genres in those selections. They're roughly chronological, for reference:
Potato Head Blues is dixieland
Take the A Train is big band/swing
Ko Ko is bebop
Moanin' is hard bop
Blue Rondo a la Turk is cool jazz
My Favourite things is modal jazz
Hat and Beard is post bop
Bitches Brew is jazz fusion
Free jazz is free jazz
Songbird is smooth jazz
No. I really dislike this.
Show me what a good one is then. I am here to ask for that.
Remembered another one i like:
youtu.be
I am beginning to feel a pattern: Classic rock, "progressive" 8 bit edm, "warming songs".
I like the more "funky" Jazz songs, i am thinking on that first one.
>remembered another one
>the ink spots
Fuck this is some premium meming
holy shit, thanks a lot for this
this is fantastic
you have made my day
listen to the screaming face album
IT COCK or whatever it's called
I can enjoy that, thanks
I'm not old, i just remembered it from playing Fallout.

Jazz fusion is kinda a catch all for "jazz mixed with a popular genre" so there's a lot of jazz that's played like funk:

>I'm not old, I just remembered it from playing fallout
That's the point you fucking mong
That is very good. Would like some pointers for more like this here.

Anyone here listen to nigger music? I never see threads about this.

I think most of these new "rappers" are fucking trash and this style that's really popular right now, but I actually like Denzel. I legit think he's good and different.
Maybe i am judging the book by i'ts cover, but the cover was so bad that i am not even considering going deeper into it. The Dead one screams meme.
Same.
What is a good example of a song you like and a part in it that you dislike?
I feel like you're super sensitive to every choice made by the artists.
My dad is like this. I'll play QotSA stuff for him and he'll say they always make an off the norm structure choice that throws him off of entirely enjoying the song.
I know I'll get a lot of hate for this, but honestly I love this type of "edgy" music.

Most non-nigercore rap songs always have some very off part.
Most metal and hard rock songs go well, until someone starts dying and needs to scream as hard as possible.
98% of Electronic music starts well, then repeats too much and 30 seconds into the song you fell like you heard everything. (I like the codex song in specific because it fells viry dynamic and creative)
Most "beat oriented" and trap songs also start being intersting, than fall into repetitivnes and lack of substantial content into the later parts of the song.
A lot of "alternative" songs have good chords, notes and rhythm, but the artists voice and lyrics ruin it.
I feel like classic rock is the sweet spot with good guitar riffs and solos all throuout the song, a letter that at least tries and and a vocalist that sings well.
Classic music by the big names are also amazing.
I was a big fan of Elaenia - Floating Points because the repetition was momentum-building
>he doesn't like screaming

You need better taste. And you'd better give this song a chance and listen till the end.
