I don't care if moo don't like experimental pop (like Art Angels or the rest of Grimes discography) but I certainly do.

That's not a genre. I can't like a thing that does not what exists.

Genuine question here. What is some more music like Grimes- Genesis?

yes it is

grimes' music past halfaxa isn't experimental though

yeah though, i liked the last jenny hval album and i'm a big dirty projectors and scott walker fan

>expiremental

Grimes - Visions

Don't count on it. I'll be experimenting while you're emptying a sweat shop, all because you lost an internet argument.

I do like Halfaxa the best i respect that.

why do you keep reposting this

original content

what else should we do? mods delete our threads

I searched a lot and found nothing like this song.

because your threads are garbage

Insanity is repeating choices/behavior and expecting different results.

Nothing. People just don't get how unique Grimes really is.

1) it's not even my thread
2) don't post in threads you don't like

Correct. They keep removing our threads and expect that we stop posting Grimes. Mods are insane.

>grimes' music past halfaxa isn't experimental
It is, even if it has a bigger pop dose.

because its a cool alt cover
heres a bigger one

mariah
the japanese synthpop girl

It's the only way they can get their cuck fix.

yes

>grimes' music past halfaxa isn't experimental though
I think you need to define just what, exactly, you mean by "experimental" with that statement. Because pretty much anyone who knows a thing or two about diverse fields of music (including myself) says otherwise.

ripping off cocteau twins and mariah carey isn't experimental

>Because pretty much anyone who knows a thing or two about diverse fields of music (including myself) says otherwise.

What did he mean by this?

The songs change more often, Visions is more linear.

>ripping off cocteau twins and mariah
are you sure?

it's worse than that, she made her entire career off of Wuthering Heights, one song.

>ripping off
You mean inspired by. Show me a Cocteau Twins and Mariah Carey song similar to Grimes' work.

Grimes is about as experimental as adding Jelly to a Peanut Butter Sandwich.

you know nothing about her discography if you think that

Try 90% of pitchfork bnm pop

>"every arty female artist is a kate bush clone" meme
Good joke. When Grimes started making music she didn't even listen to Kate Bush. How songs like Circumambient, Scream, Kill V. Maim, Rosa, Weregild, Oblivion, Fleah Without Blood are even similar to Wuthering Heights? You said that just because Grimes has a high pitched voice? Give me a break.

Majical Clouds. Pretty much their whole discography. Start with Childhood's End.

baka at all the people saying nothing is like it...

I'm trying this right now.

Name a similar artist to Grimes, if you think she's generic and not experimental.

good luck senpai. post results

Majical Cloudz (their frontman Devon was Grimes' boyfriend) is more similar to her early work (GP & Halfaxa) than to Genesis.

And the exact Grimes songs inspired by these songs? To compare them side by side.

Purity Ring. Chvrches. Majical Clouds, as posted above.

Pretty much any electro-pop, honestly. Adding random sounds (korean, screaming, whatever) does not mean she isn't electro-pop.

>Purity Ring. Chvrches. Majical Clouds, as posted above.
Only Majical Cloudz is quite similar (btw, Grimes on some of their songs). The other ones don't sound even remotely similar to Grimes, except having female voices and synths.

>Pretty much any electro-pop, honestly.
No. You don't know this genre if you make such gross generalisations.

Actually name some electropop songs and the exact Grimes song counterpart. To see if they're similar. Put them side by side.

You're straight up delusional.

You're asking me to find two songs from different artists that sound exactly the same. Of course, her sound is different from other acts, but you could say that about just about any artist that isn't radio pop. Otherwise, they wouldn't be anything to look out for.

I like grimes, but saying she's experimental is like saying Taylor Swift was experimental for leaving country.

>You're asking me to find two songs from different artists that sound exactly the same.
Not exactly the same, but at least similar. If there aren't artists like her, it means her work is experimental / uncommon / not ordinary.

>I like grimes, but saying she's experimental is like saying Taylor Swift was experimental for leaving country.
It's not the same thing.

Are you seriously imply that Heartbeats sounds like those songs you posted (Cocteau Twins & Mariah Carey)? Leaving aside the instrumentation, the lyrics and the actual song isn't even remotely similar. Maybe just a hint.

Listen to them one after another.
