Mine is very similar, however I didn't enjoy Endless that much. Overall nice taste I guess.

Endless is an ambient R&B/pop masterpiece to me. It's really close between all five albums, but Endless stuck with me emotionally far longer. I stain decks in the summer and I had that on repeat the entire week after that. It was life-changing for me. Both of Frank's albums sound like the end of summer in a way no other album I've ever heard does. I guess maybe I like Endless more because the staining wood for a long period of time gave me a connection to him lol

Bumping

idk this years awful

Damn man, you've heard every album that's come out this year? That's impressive

>expecting me to narrow it down to five
I struggle with fifteen

ofc I will not listen stuff that I don't care about like shitty rap or indie hipster garbage

I'm not even close to caught up yet, so this is likely subject to change. But as it stands, here it is

I haven't listened to a lot of 2016 releases but these are my favorite (In non particular order):

David Bowie - Blackstar
Frank Ocean - Blonde
The Avalanches - Wildflower
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – Skeleton Tree
Preoccupations - Preoccupations

I guarantee you haven't listened to every album of literally any genre or sound to come out this year so get off your high horse.

Nails-You Will Never Be One of Us
because no one posted yet

That's up there for me too. I loved the more polished production and accessible sound that still maintained te level of brutality that rivals their other 2 records. Better than Abandon All Life but I prefer Unsilent Death

muh fantano

DIIV is garbage though. Why would you sit through that whole painstaking hour of awful singing and lazy performances? Even the textures were weak as fuck on that album

usually people are just talking about the experience of having lived in xxxx year as a general fan of music, and whether that experience was good, listening to all the albums that enough people said you should listen to. which I think is mostly fair, aside from the lack of focus.

>Sabaton

That's a good list.

That's why people should just go seek out the things they enjoy rather than listen to whatever gets buzz on Sup Forums then complain about it and say it's been a bad year. My point was that whether it's a good year for music for you is purely based on how you decide to spend your time and energy to find what you would like, not others, and that complaining about a year is dumb because there could be a ton of great shit and you haven't bothered to find it

in no particular order:

The Avalanches - Wildflower
Swans - The Glowing Man
The Gerogerigegege - Moenai Hai
Matmos - Ultimate Care II
Kanye West - The Life of Pablo

cringe

wew

A Diadem of Dead Stars

why are dream theater so fucking bad?
