Get ready to appreciate The Glowing Man even more, get some ear plugs, say waddup to Gira after the show, and keep an open mind with Okkyung personally thought she was fantastic but there were some douches talking really loud during part of it.
damn that's some edgy merch
Some of those prices are bit higher than what I saw in San Fran earlier this month; huh. But yeah, that's about the stock I saw. They also had some mid-late 90's material, World of Skin and The Great Annihilator, namely.
It was my first time seeing them (and first concert actually), they do not disappoint. It was such a fulfilling experience.
Bring earplugs dude!!!!!! I kept mine in for 90% of the concert, and while the moments I took them out (part of Glowing Man+Cloud of Unknowing) felt so good and rewarding to hear them unfiltered, it's not worth the risk. My friend had them *out* 90% of the time and his ears rang for two days afterward, no joke.
Thor won't be there, but Paul Wallfisch is a great contributor, gets really into it. They should be playing a new song, but don't spoil it more than I just did. The setlist is so powerful live.
If you're into moving with and feeling the music, go for it, it's a great sensation. Just try not to bump into anyone. Unfortunately I had some short goth chick and middle aged guy in all black start letting loose right in front of me; real annoying. Grab a short clip of video, too, it's helped cement the night in my memory.
I saw Westburg and Hahn walking around beforehand and said hello, careful to not take up too much of their time. Both really appreciative and humorous!
And yeah, Gira announces he'll be by the merch table afterward. There's a decent line but it was incredible to shake his hand and such. Probably won't get a picture, though, as he's behind the table. Such a gentle, easy, dude.
Sorry for the length haha. Above all, live in the moment and enjoy yourself, it's a golden opportunity. Have fun :-)
the knot is not a new song
See you there.
Okkyung Lee isn't on this leg of the tour.
Oh? I hadn't heard of it until this tour.
It has elements of previous songs but hasn't been properly released yet. Is that not 'new?'
>Supporting a misogynist artist that downplays rape
>not separating art from artist

Fuck that meme. You stupid lolbertarians need to get the fuck out. He's An Influential person that condones rape, why would you give him your money? Your literally funding sexism.
hey while i have you, i want to try out this new meme out on you. Here it is: A nigga needs his porridge, bra
As far as I know, it takes a few minutes from No words/ No Thoughts but considering its a 40 minute long song, it's mostly new.
I got a Public Castration shirt. Should I kill myself?
No how else would you wear it dummy
Wear headphones.
Do you know nothing about SWANS?
I'm seeing them in Austin tomorrow and I'm holding on to the slightest hope that Thor might make an appearance since he lives here but probably not. Sure it'll still be a great show.
Both that and the 'You Fucking People make me sick" shirt are pretty hilarious, but I ended up just getting the teeth shirt because the 99% of people who don't get what it is will just think you're a supreme edgemaster
>believing he did it
>falling for the b8
Dude's a feminist, his lyrics have conveyed this since the early stuff. The man who wrote Fan letter is probably not someone who hates women. The man who let Volcano onto their record probably doesn't hate women. The man who wrote When Will I Return, one of the most powerful songs ever written about surviving rape, to help his wife cope with a rape she suffered years ago, but still remembers is probably not a rapist.
His persona is this scary pscyopath to help sell albums, that's clearly not who he also is. The worst he's done was when he was
Neither his current wife OR his ex-wife from when this happened who knew about this and was supposedly told by larkin believes this, nor anyone who knew Gira personally.
Even with Larkin's description, at best it's a sloppy night where they were both drunk off their ass and they misunderstood queues from each other.
Funny how this was dropped at the height of their fame too...
And second...
even IF you believe this and believe the persona, why would you support someone you thought was inhumanly evil and probably already buried bodies?
Y'all support Vargs and he straight up killed a guy. We still like Phil Spector here and he straight up killed a girl.
I need to make a copypasta.
kek
i wonder if anyone actually wears public castration shirts outside
The tote says "WASTE IS OBSCENE"
I'd buy that.
>i wonder if anyone actually wears public castration shirts outside
I doubt anyone would take it seriously
This desu
Everybody painting Gira as some rampant proponent of misogyny during that whole scandal was ridiculous. Dude has had some pretty heavy feminist themes in his music for years, I mean he's a fucking New York bohemian artist, out of all people they could push this narrative onto, Gira just is bro one of them.
Now of course there are probably feminist rapists out there, but fucking everybody around the situation came out in support of Gira, and these are not the types who would at all support women being marginalized in some aspect. Obviously we'll never know what happened but I think there's more than enough support to call her claims into some kind of doubt.
*not one of them
Don't know why my phone corrects that to "bro"
okay to bypass the debate baby dee was really fucking good, I had zero expectations and it was super cool
That's good to hear, I was wondering what the fuck she was even going to be.
>be me
>buy public castration shirt
>go outside
>get publicly castrated by feminists
Feels bad man
at the Van show some middle aged dude was laughing during her set with his post-wall wife. I would have slammed his head into the bartop but the security was stationed right next to us. I don't care who is playing, have some respect.
>post-wall
what
Maybe it just means his wife was really into The Division Bell and A Momentary Lapse of Reason.
