>finally

...

Nice. I'm still raising my IQ, but I should be ready in a few months

Is it really that hard to get into, though?

Miles, Coltrane, the list could go on...

To really appreciate it yeah

where did that dentist trip poster who used to go by Gylldenhall go?

Not really :^]

A LOVE SUPREME

I guess, but if you don't start with Sup Forumscore jazz, which is mostly avant-garde, and just listen to cool jazz/vocal jazz at first it's gonna be a lot easier

Pleb detected. Go back to your hippety hop.

This. Just hit some Miles Davis albums that stylistically cover cool jazz, modal jazz, and jazz fusion. It would take a furious pleb to not at least kind of enjoy that stuff.

A love supreme

don't start with easy jazz don't be so white

Start with Blue Train by John Coltrane.
And after that, if it clicks, listen to
Iddle Moments, Grant Green.
Listen to Dexter Gordon.
A Love Supreme by Coltrane, you'll love it.
Listen to Chet Baker Quintet.
The Bop Session by Gillespie.
Miles Davis is essencial, unique and so wide that you'll go crazy.
And I can keep on telling you what you must listen but I think is enough.
Two albums to start on Miles are Cookin' or Something Else.

I guess bop is also a good entry, as some people might find cool jazz a bit boring at first

I feel like whenever Sup Forums discusses cool jazz they never actually know what it means...

Post helpful how-to jazz chart thingys anons, pls

> Fall in love with Steely Dan and get acquainted with jazz composition.

> Listen to Bill Evans' Trio '65, not sure if into. Then finally listen to Explorations all the way and begin to understand.

> Randomly pick up Return to Forever's Where Have I Known You Before. Have epiphany.

Been balls-deep in jazz for four years since. Feels good man.
