I like the fender bass vi for concept, but mine is kinda buzz-y and you gotta focus on the tone a lot to make it have some bass-y depth.

I'm partial to the Fender Precision but I'm not really into playing bass further than a superficial level.

Likewise, its six-stringed brother is the deserving king of the guitar realm.

There's no one bass that's good for everything. Michael Manring's hyperbass is incredible, although it was designed with specific things in mind, so it probably wouldn't perform as well as mainstays in very conventional contexts . I'd say in my view it's the "coolest" bass, but "best" depends on what you want from a bass to begin with.

no contest, best bass, best tone, best look

74 Lesh Dead

Looks like an ashtray my dad used to own.

Oh cool I found it. Yeah, those colors reminde me of this ashtray a lot.

T-40 is just great because it does every bass.
I gotta say the Rick does bass best though.

A Fender Precision Bass with
>a Jazz width neck thats been aged/re-finished to that vintage tint
>pearl block inlays
>tug bar below the G string
>Jazz pickup in the bridge position (just for looks, never to actually turn on)
>Badass II bridge
>Rotosound Swing Bass 66's
>playing through a Ampeg/GK/Hartke rig

this

I've always had a tremendous boner for this one. My mentor used to play it. I don't remember if it sounded THAT great, I just always loved the way it looked and it sounded nice compared to my yamaha.

solo the bridge pickup, scoop out the mids, add some chorus

best tone ever

how the fuk are you suppose to play anything from the 12 fret down

...what

there is a gigantic scoop allowing you to easily play the full length of the bass

Just seems uncomfortable not being to hold onto the neck with your whole hand

...

That's a beautiful bass

i've had this thing for nearly 6 years now, and it's fucking amazing. beautiful tone, beautiful feel, and beautiful looks.

As a Rick owner its by far my fave, but I'd fucking love to get my hands on a T-40. Its like all the best qualities of a jazz bass and a Rick rolled into one.

Silverburst is a god tier style.
