Such a unique taste...
Sun Ra - Strange Strings
Les Rallizes Dénudés in general

It's better to place one album per artist.

Forgot chart

wow what an absolute obscure taste :)

I hate my chart. I hate myself. I had to put down my dog of fifteen years two days ago and I haven't stopped crying.

Rate me.

Oh yes, I'm an intellectual. I do cocaine to early Stars of the Lid, and when I lie on my hammock in my baroque garden overlooking the opulent scenery, Waltz for Debby will be playing through my Bluetooth Bang & Olufsen speakers.
On sensual summer nights, you can be sure I am listening to Destroyer's verbose wit, his aphorisms making me gently chuckle as I proudly gaze at my Cuban cigar collection.
The hedonistic sentimentalist in me cannot live a day without listening to Leonard and Françoise, their simple tales of complex emotions make me sigh tenderly, and not un-remeniscingly, while I sip on my Chimere Chateauneuf du Pape.
And after I have finished watching my favorite Ozu and Rohmer films for the hundredth time, I listen to Ekstasis and Hosianna Mantra, their oriental aesthetic the perfect compliment to a Nabokov and/or Borges reading session; you guessed it: I am an esthete of the purest kind.

Swivel Stick - Notes Towards a Mental Breakdown
Jessamine - s/t

Not that bad, i think u could pick a couple genres you like (experimental rock, eai?) and delve a bit deeper
Same advice, different areas - it's unusual i recognise almost all the albums on a top 100
Is this a recents chart? These dont strike me as albums you've listened to a great deal
Excellent taste, not my personal area of expertise but the aussie influence and general theme is nice
Good post
Very good, even if the mix of classical and pop music looks funny
I said this in another thread but i think you'd both benefit from and enjoy seeking out music from outside europe and the usa
It's a decent start
Difficult to find faults with this one gj

...

>I do cocaine to early Stars of the Lid

It's good isn't it? The Ballasted Orchestra especially.

>KC - RED
Rhun - Fanfare du Chaos

Can't get into MXBX 1998 :(

Which charts make you cringe in particular

will listen to rhun
do you like other melt-banana stuff?
i thought you would - it's brutal prog guitar rhythms and stop start mathy song writing - and probably their most artistically sincere album next to charlie

yo
I saw Deerhoof live last night, was really good.
Have you seen them live?

other than talk talk i don't know any of that - what do you recommend to listen to first?
love ESG, other recs seem really good - what's deerhoof like?

Only Cell-Scape (I love every song from that album), and some songs from Fetch and Charlie (but not a big fan of either).
Everything else is too "grey". I really wanted to like MXBX 1998.
Now, I don't really see the "art" part in any of their albums.

Nope. I have been to like five live shows in my life.

>BP
Yeah. I've heard that. That's actually a very good debut. Thanks for recs.

WOW. Thanks for recs. I haven't heard of them. I don't know about KC-RED things, but I recommend Shub-Niggurath - Les morts vont vite. You will love this.

Recs please

You love the rain

wheres my goddamn recs people

hey nice disembowelment there bud

Alameda 3
Elder - Dead Roots Stirring

UGK - Ridin Dirty
Bill Evans - Moonbeams

kind of meme taste so recs would be good

listened to like 30 seconds of shub and already excited - if you haven't listened to souls at zero, do, it's not exactly like neurosis' later stuff, but is still incredible, takes a lot of sound from godflesh and hardcore and pushes it to 7,8,9 minute sludge songs

I've never listened to the voyager gold record, is it good?

le big bub

John Gordon - Step By Step

i feel you man, fuck these guys :)

Various Artists - Live At Target

>I've never listened to the voyager gold record, is it good?
Yes. It has about five of my around 150 favorite songs. That's a lot.

Well I'll be, gonna go for it then.

Were these threads always this tight of a circlejerk? It seemed at least back then people weren't trying to be as ""esoteric"" as possible.

grey is a good word to describe it - might be the production quality - but under the surface the creativity in MXBX is incredible, so many rock idea packed in tight in these noisecore like songs
I'm a little bit skeptical of Elder, never liked the drumming. If the drummer keeps smashing the cymbals I get bored of it easily
will listen to alameda

that's probably because back then they were just as esoteric with less trying, I remember quite a few noise anons used to show up with their obscure tapes.

we're just aware as a board of the cult of obscurity with avant-teen being in.

What did you mean by this?

hmm, I dunno. Depends on what you're feeling. There's a variety of stuff on there. Ranging from jazz to ambient and bossa nova to metal.

Deerhoof is really fun, but in a unique way. Manages to be energetic without falling into the common trappings of being kooky.

Ah, nice. You're welcome.

Thank.

le circle bub

some good jazz / metal recs would be appreciated

body is sore from death grips last night, best show i've been to

codeine - frigid stars

Hi

>You asked me. I'm here now.
Hey so I finally listened to the recs you gave me a while back, and it's nearly all brilliant (i'm thinking darling and micus in particular). It's just that all the ecm stuff is so hard to find online, from micus i could only find implosions, and I could find nothing, strictly nothing for anouar brahem(so haven't been able to listen to him) So I was wondering if you had any download links for these artists or if you just bought the albums. Btw ecm seems an absolutely fantastic label so thanks for turning me on to that, can't believe i didn't come across it before.

also nice coralie clément :)

here's some variety in both genres, somewhat based on your chart

>metal
Furdidurke – Furdidurke
Knokkelklang – Kalk & Aske
Dawn – Nær Solen Gar Niþer For Evogher
diSEMBOWELMENT – Transcendence Into the Peripheral
Worship – Last Tape Before Doomsday
Skepticism – Stormcrowfleet
Demilich – Nespithe

>jazz
Hiroshi Suzuki – Cat
Oliver Nelson – The Blues And The Abstract Truth
Harold McKinney – Voices And Rhythms Of The Creative Profile
Albert Ayler – Albert Ayler In Greenwich Village
Pharoah Sanders – Izipho Zam (My Gifts)
Don Cherry – Mu Part 1 and 2
Sonny Clark – Cool Struttin'

hi
Ah, nice. I see, check out Soulseek:
slsknet.org/news/node/1

Great little file sharing client that should have anything you want, really. Discographies are usually easier from other sites tho; so check out these:

Anouar Brahem
rutracker.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4670578

Stephan Micus
rutracker.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2838095

Micus and Brahem is both rather consistent, so worth checking out everything.

also, ECM is great label; lots of good stuff. From jazz to classical. Can be called of as jazz for people that don't like jazz, but that's just lazy. Because there's some crazy hidden gems in there.

Thank :)

your fat

hi. rec me some folksy metal

thank you very much for those recs, much appreciated
