ITT: video game soundtracks that are actually good
It baffles me how a fairly obscure 90's platformer could have such a fantastic DnB soundtrack.

Damn, I've never heard of his other stuff. This is fantastic. Any other pointers for getting into Japanese electronic?
I'm pretty sure the city level in Ape Escape 2 had the same melody as "sweet escape" by Gwen Stefani/Akon lol

So who's the bigger man?
wow thanks for this thread op I honestly didn't expect it to be this good
It's fucking amazing. The second one is so shitty and uninteresting comparatively.
Mirror's Edge and Oblivion have 10/10 soundtracks.
Hotline Miami
Someone should make an Ape Escape clone and get Machine Girl to score it
>Someone should make an Ape Escape clone
To be honest, Sony should just make a new Ape Escape game that's as mechanically perfect as the original and release it on the PS4.
It'd sell a fair amount.
Turok makes me want to run as fast as sonic while killing dinosaurs, very cool soundtrack

Are you autistic?
It's not profound, it's enjoyable.
The value of some music comes from how profound it is; in other cases it just comes from how enjoyable the constituent parts of the song are and the sonic landscape produced.
thanks for the rei harakami recommendation, listening to his stuff on youtube and really digging it.
Goemon's Great Adventure for the N64 was criminally underrated

whats even more baffleing is how a game from 94
has a grime tune in it 8 years before the genre came into existance

so nostalgic
I happen to be a 20 year old with musical talent who's studying music at university. Who are you? I'm guessing a basement dweller lmao
...
Oh man you're a 20 year old studying music, WITH TALENT, I'm gonna back off
...
I'm being serious. I have studied music for 2 years and I am skilled at playing multiple instruments, I can understand that you have criticism but it's meaningless if you can't play an instrument and have experience in music theory. I'm guessing you're just a basement dweller who haven't even had experience in the real world lmao go and get some experience in the music industry before you go and comment on how bad a band is faggot. Grow the fuck up.

obligatory Copeland Spyro video
wewlad
Copeland's Spyro work is fucking godly. 3 games in a row all composed solely by him. The first is a lot of midi synthesized stuff that sounds pretty dated, but 2 and 3 have live recorded instruments and crazy time signatures and it's just fucking phenomenal
