honestly now is there a decent term that encompasses everythin from dubstep to techno to jungle
because "underground uk dance music" sounds proper gay and edgy, people start thinkin i like deep house. "uk bass" people think you're a fisherman or somethin, you can't utter the word dubstep thanks to skrillex and all his gayhead mates. i just don't know what to go to.

I'm australian and generally move around the darker parts of techno, with a little uk garage and house thrown in for some contrast.
When trying to explain what I like to the naive, I tend to say underground dance. Sure, you get some raised eyebrows with the word 'underground' but it's pretty accurate, and most people who matter realise that means no US-commercial dance, and no trance.

I think it's a lot of fun if you're just getting into bleeps or you just like the good vvvvibes house, disco, funk type of music with people really letting loose (as it should be imo some techno nights just don't feel this way ya know??)
I haven't been to one in over a year or two as I'm just not into that anymore but I imagine it's the same atmosphere. Probably won't attend one for many years till when I'm married, and have a kid so I can bring the lil pup out for a dance with the misses. A lot of the summer parties have just about every type of person imaginable which is actually p neat but nor for me rn
