My new roomate is an indian exchange student, he is truly a nice guy. Maybe you had bad experiences, but you shouldn't generalize.

the best indians just leave india. US gets a huge amount of them. they are nice people and family oriented. A little quirky from a social perspective but really fit in quite well.
