Now that it's been out for over a week, let's get a thread going about Civil War. What did you like/not like/hate Sup Forums? Spoilers welcome, duh.

>liked - the airport scene, spiderman, the fact that it was a conflict of ideals, Chris Evans and his beautiful muscles, the bro moments with Falcon, Bucky and Cap
>didn't like - how Black Panthers story ended , Hawkeye was underused, Vision disappearing for most of the airport scene
>hated - the two forced love stories that had no place in the film, the two fucking awful post credit scenes

Antmans appearance in the movie was alot more entertaining than i expected, i liked antman in this movie just as much spiderman. Didnt like the part (Cap and Bucky were flying to a different country where the other winter soldiers were kept in their frozen state) where Black panther just coincidently happened to know where cap and buck were going and followed them, there was no explanation how he knew about their plans

Shameless self bump

Oh yeah. That pissed me off. I really loved the giant man reveal though, Ant Man was great, I loved Iron Man's 'who are you?' Line to him

Captian America and the blonde was so trill I think she's hella cute
Treating Scarlett Witch like a kid is even cutie it makes jerkin off to Old Boy so much hotter
Giant Man, didn't think they'd do it
HATED. Aunt May, obvious love interest between her and Iron Man in Spiderman: Homecoming

Hey, at least they got rid of fucking Mrs Coldplay. I mean I liked Sharon, but she wasn't needed for the film except that speech at the start, which I loved because it's one of my favourite lines in comic history.

>no death of cap

Fuck this drivel. Better shape the fuck up Marvel.

capturn murica didnt die 0/10 would not recommend.

Oh no, they didn't kill off a character that brings in billions of dollars, is generally liked by the public and still had find on their contact. Why wouldn't they kill him just to please a couple of nerds? Fucking idiots, not thinking.

>implying

You don't read comics do you.

Am I the only one who thinks Bucky is an annoying emo faggot. He ruins every scene he is in.

See: (Captain America: Reborn)

Checked

I do, but Death of Captain America was a dumb ass storyline only made so they could make bucky good again. Not needed in the film and would have come across as a cheap play for emotions like in BvS and AoU. People want death in superhero movies hate it when it happens. You fan boys are literally impossible to please.

This absolutely nothing like the comic. It wasnt as bad the Civil War comic, but still pretty lame.
The one thing that remained the same from the comic is Tony Stark acting like a major retard

It really depends on the scene as to whether he's likeable or not.

I didn't think that at all. I loved watching him kick ass, and thought him lifting the motorcycle with one arm was cool
Spider-Man and Black Panther were annoying to me

I liked it but the ending felt far too consequence free.
Spidey and Antman were great.

>not valuing source material.

You're what's wrong with the movie industry these days.

I bet you even enjoyed Liebsman's Teenage Mutant Nigga Turtles.

My mate once met Mark Millar in a hotel as they had nearby rooms, and he tried his best to not punch him for his character assassination of Iron Man and Captain America

MCU hasn't been giving a shit about source material from the beginning
Fox is the only company that actually comes close to what they have to work with anymore. That is fucking pathetic

One of my friends asked Mark Millar at a panel what was going through his mind when he made a character who was composed of the shit of the 666 most evil people on earth . Mark just moved on to the next question

There's a difference between valuing and adapting. If you just did a direct copy of the comics it would be a terrible movie. Some things work, most don't. You're the kind of guy that would probably complain about Scarlet Witch not having an accurate costume. We're both what's wrong.

I really liked Spiderman in this movie, even though I didn't particularly give a shit when I heard he would be in it. When we first got introduced to Peter Parker I wasn't really digging it, but then when he was doing his thing at the airport I was just sitting there in the cinema smiling and really enjoying myself.

Black Panther was another one that I liked a lot more than I expected. Saw the trailer and thought "so he's a male catwoman?" and wrote him off, but he was great and I'll be happy to see more of him.

The action was great, everything that happened at the airport was amazing and there weren't any particular parts I disliked. I thought the success of the villain's plans was kinda contrived though; seemed like it all would have completely fell apart if not for a series of lucky coincidences. It also could've gone a bit darker, I've enjoyed the Marvel movies as the light-hearted fun they are, but this was a good opportunity to tread into new territory and I think they played it too safe with nobody dying and Cap writing Tony a fucking friendly letter at the end. Was still a great movie, but I dunno, could have been on another level if they took a chance and made a darker turn at the end.

black panther is literally black

None of them give a shit, they have to be dialed down to appeal to both nerds and the public. If you want to see what too much accuracy does to a convoluted origin story like most comic characters, look at Green Lantern.

Kevin Fiege said the MCU will never take a dark turn and always keep this tone.
A lot of people are expecting characters to die in Avengers 3, but after nobody dying in CW, I doubt it.

Hated that it was basicly a filler episode.
No one died.
Warmachine can be brough back whenever they see fit.
Same goes for bucky, he can be unfrozen whenever needed.
Steve and Tony basicly worked it out in the end. Steve's letter at the end was basicly just saying "Ay yo fam hit me up when Thanos gets here."

Deadpool is probably the closest adaptation and was a great movie
I really don't get why execs feel he need to change everything for the general audience. Those guys are gonna see it anyways, so why not do something for the guys whkve had this as a hobby for a long time?

Damn, kind of unfortunate, but then again they're pretty good at making them with this tone.

What villains do people want to see in Spiderman? I would love to see Chamaeleon committing crimes as Spidey to start with, and then Spidey hunting him.

If they valued the source material, civil war wouldnt have been one movie

Liked it. Spiderman was cool, think they've finally done home right.
Only criticisms:
>aunt may was too hot
>one of Spider-Mans lines, "you have the right to remain silent"

The Empire Strikes Back line was way worse.

Wasn't it like "stop, in the name of the law" or something? I didn't have a problem with it at all.

Is Bucky doing the Twist?

Might have been true 10 years ago, but now we live in the Twitter age, if it didn't appeal to Cletus and Brandeen then they'd find out the day or so after it opened.

His lines were hit and miss, I loved his one about the shield breaking the laws of physics

Are you saying filler episodes can't be great?

No it was explained. He followed Iron Man when he dropped out of his plane. After Iron man visited Falcon and found out where they were.

I read the comics and it disappointed me a little bit, but to be honest everyone is going to be resurrected for the final fight with Thanos by the infinity stones anyways. I can see why they did it.

I meant that I didn't know how he knew where the gulag was.

I hear they might be doing the Thanos snap thing, so hopefully some will die then

ahh ok yea that is kind of dumb. My guess is he followed iron man there but I can see where youre coming from now.

Yeah, it felt like they wanted to show horn an ending in instead of finishing his story in his own film.

I hope so to, some people need to die in the end but I can see why from a money standpoint and overall non hardcore follower standpoint they wouldnt kill Cap this movie. I kinda hope iron mans dream comes true and everyone dies but him.

I do have to say, other then that he was pretty bad ass. His chase scene was dope.

I want the TV and Netflix heroes to be in Infinity War. Just for the fight at the end, though they've really made Quake OP on SHIELD so it would be kinda pointless as she could take down Thanos herself.

When he was being shot at by the helicopter was amazing, his look of 'the fuck you doing asshat'

Loved the film overall, Russo brothers are talented guys who give viewers smart directing and quality story.
However some things annoyed me though.

Scarlet Witch had Eurpoean accent in Age of Ultron
Scarlet Witch had American Accent in Civil War

No heroes actually ever SAVE anyone in the entire movie, they infact only kill innocent people.

>show horn
